Magic of Manners (DK)
As your children grow older, they become more and
more a part of our social world. More people interaction,
con¿dence, and success are needed as the years pass.
This program is designed to guide your children to these
lifetime goals. By using magic words, the “Golden Rule”,
compliments, introductions, meeting and greeting others,
mealtime manners, and putting their best foot forward,
they will learn what it takes to communicate and respect
fellow schoolmates and other people. Manners are
magic. Co-op with LP & WS.

SEASPAR South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation

SEASPAR, the South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation, is an
extension of La Grange and ten neighboring communities whose commitment is to
provide comprehensive recreation opportunities for residents with disabilities. Indi-
viduals with attention de¿cit disorder, autism, behavior disorders, cognitive delays, epilepsy, hearing impairments, learning
disabilities, physical impairments, visual impairments, and social issues, are all eligible for SEAPSAR programs.
The wide range of services provided include: weekly programs, special events, Special Olympics, camps, leisure educa-
tion, and so much more. Programs are available to children as young as three years old, senior citizens, and everyone in
between. SEASPAR staff and volunteers are trained to work with behavior management, physical adaptations, and social
concerns to ensure a positive experience for all those who participate. SEASPAR’s winter/spring brochure, which can be
obtained from your local library, community center, village hall and/or recreation center, and the SEASPAR Website, lists
all the programs available for the session.

New and Exciting in 2009
SEASPAR is pleased to offer two new programs for children to start the new year on a creative note.
Little Artists allows the participants to use their imagination to create works of art. A variety of methods and materials to
explore such art forms as painting, sculpting, drawing, digital photography, mosaics, collage, foil embossing, and stamping
are used. Participants also gain a visual arts vocabulary and an appreciation for the visual arts.
Dance with Me is offered to children who enjoy movement and music. This class was created for young dance enthusi-
asts to slide, glide, jump, twirl, hop, and wiggle to many styles of music and rhythm following the lead of a dance teacher.
The focus of this class is to stimulate the imagination of the dancers, encourage expression through dance, practice fol-
lowing directions as part of a group, and to participate and interact with others in a creative and positive atmosphere.
The 2009 summer brochure lists speci¿cs for these, and many other programs that SEASPAR provides. The brochure is
available on line at www.seaspar.org.
