7. PUBLIC HEARING
7A. Conduct a public hearing on the request of the Adult Activity Center applicant
for a special exemption form Chapter 17.40, Signs, Section 17.40.010, General
Rules, Uvalde Municipal Code, to install a 3 ft. x 8 ft. new LED sign (marquee) at
the Adult Activity Center, 250 East Main Street, NCB 46, Old Town Subdivision,
Block 15, Lots 297-A and 305, City of Uvalde, Uvalde County, Texas.
8. NEW BUSINESS
8A. Consider and act on the request of the Adult Activity Center applicant for a
special exemption form Chapter 17.40, Signs, Section 17.40.010, General Rules,
Uvalde Municipal Code, to install a 3 ft. x 8 ft. new LED sign (marquee) at the
Adult Activity Center, 250 East Main Street, NCB 46, Old Town Subdivision, Block
15, Lots 297-A and 305, City of Uvalde, Uvalde County, Texas.
8B. Consider and act on Resolution No. 2010-02 appointing election judges and clerks
to serve at the special city election to be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
8C. Consider and act on Resolution No. 2010-03 fixing compensation for the election
judges and clerks serving for the special city election to be held on Tuesday,
March 2, 2010.
8D. Consider and act on Resolution No. 2010-04 establishing procedure for a general
election in Uvalde, Texas to be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010.
8E. Consider and act on the request of Alfredo F. Suarez, Jr. applicant, for a
variance (setback requirements) from Chapter 15.24, Minimum Yards Section
17.24.020, General Rules, Uvalde Municipal Code, to install an 11 ft. 6 in. X 18
ft. 8 in. Carport in the front yard of 313 Cummings Street, NCB 11, Cummings
Addition, Block D, Lot 6, City of Uvalde, Uvalde County, Texas.
8F. Consider and act on Ordinance No. 2010-01 amending Uvalde Municipal Code
regarding the minimum yards for carports.
8G. Consider and act on an agreement for E9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point
Services between the City of Uvalde and Middle Rio Grande Development
8H. Consider and act on a request of Lee Schnelle, Clean Environments, Inc. for
access to install three (3) extra monitoring wells on City of Uvalde property
8I. Consider and act on the naming of a street located within property donated to
the City of Uvalde from Carper Capt (1.091 acres with existing curbed street over
and along it, lying wholly within Survey No. 75, Juan Jose Guerra, Original

14-16, 2009 cleanup of the monitoring wells located on the Civic Center
9C. Report by Mark McLiney, Southwest Securities, regarding financing for the
proposed construction of Cell C at the Municipal Landfill, the purchase of
equipment for the Municipal Landfill/Collections, and construction of MGD
Clarifier at the Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant.
9D. Fourth Quarter Report of the Uvalde Convention & Visitors Bureau by Joanne
Nelson, Director of the Convention & Visitors Bureau.
9E. Report by Richard Martinez, Chief of Police on the efforts to address graffiti.
9F. Report by Joe A. Cardenas, Asst. City Manager, on the status of the Texas Capital
Fund Hangar 4 Project.
9G. Report by staff on Capital Improvement and Upcoming Projects.
10A. Discussion regarding the repair of chug holes and increased efforts for cleaner
alleys and streets.
11. EXECUTIVE SESSION
The City Council of the City of Uvalde, Texas will convene in executive session in
accordance and for the purposes by the Open Meetings Act, Section 551.074 Personnel
11A. Discussion regarding the applicants for the City Manager position.

Side of the Building off of Getty Street/Hwy. 83. The Council Chambers is accessible by elevator to the
second floor. Requests for special services must be received by the City Secretary’s Office at least forty-
eight (48) hours prior to meeting time by calling the City Secretary at (830) 278-3315.
In this Notice of Open Meeting, the posting of an agenda item as a matter to be discussed in open session is
not intended to limit or require discussion of that matter in open session if it is otherwise appropriate to
discuss the matter in executive session. If, during the discussion of any agenda item, a matter is raised that is
appropriate for discussion in executive session the council may, as permitted by law, convene into executive
session to deliberate on the matter.
The City Council reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during the course of this
meeting to discuss any of the matters listed below, as authorized by the Texas Government Code, Section
551.071 (Consultation with Attorney), 551.072 (Deliberations about Real Property), 551.073 (Deliberations
about Gifts and Donations), 551.074 (Personnel Matters), 551.076 (Deliberations about Security Devices) and
551.087 (Economic Development).
The posting of an agenda item as a matter to be discussed in executive session is not intended to limit or
require discussion of that matter in executive session. The council may discuss in open session any matter for
which notice has been given in this notice of open meeting including agenda items posted for executive
session. In no event, however, will the council take action on any agenda item in executive session, whether
it is posted for open or executive session discussion.
