Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have held our Focus Groups to aid in the search for your new Superintendent and received a great deal of
helpful information. Thank you to those of you who either attended a group or sent in a form.
We have received one application for a board member to replace Katrina Campbell. The Board will be
interviewing candidates at their Board Meeting on Tuesday, December 16 at 8:00 pm. If you are interested in
filling Katrina’s position, for the remainder of her term through April 23, 2009, please send a letter of interest
to Mrs. Nina Crivello in the Business Office.
Please make note of the many special holiday activities planned for both schools. We welcome you to these
events and know you will enjoy the talents of all our students.

ATTENTION PARENTS: SAFETY ISSUE When dropping your children off in the morning with buses
present, please drive down to the bottom parking lot, turn around and then drop your child at the sidewalk on
the side of the building. ALL SHOES MUST HAVE BACKS. NO CLOGS, SLIPPERS, FLIP FLOPS OR
PAJAMA PROGRAM: The Student Council will be taking part in the Pajama Program which provides new
pajamas and books to children in need. Many of these children live in group homes or shelters, and others have been
abused or abandoned. Please join in with the Student Council and donate new pajamas for all sizes infant to size 17,
and new books for these children to read. The drive will run from December 1-19. We intend to make a
difference-giving back is what it’s all about. Please bring unwrapped pajamas and new books to rooms 10, 16 or
the Hoppock office.
Yearbook orders and 8 grade packets are overdue. This is your last
chance to buy a 2009-2009 yearbook. Please make sure you have ordered

TOYS FOR TOTS & LOCAL CHILDREN: The community members of Bethlehem Township collect gifts every
year for those less fortunate. All unwrapped new toys, games and books will be displayed in the Conley School lobby
until December 22. This service project builds excitement as students discover the joy of giving to others and sharing
their gifts of love. Walking past the donations each day serves to reinforce community spirit and pride in aiding
Birthday Books at Conley: Donate a book to the library in honor of your birthday for just $10.00. If interested have
your child bring a check made out to BTPTA (or cash) to Ms. Bjerre. First, pick out a birthday book from the
birthday box. Be the first to check out your book. Take the book home and sign your name and date of birth on the

The BTPTA Classifieds are a great way for you to earn money (and a fundraising opportunity, too!).Are you doing a
Fall Clean-up? Preparing space for the upcoming Holidays? Need some extra Holiday cash? Do you have a business
or service to promote? The classifieds are listed in our monthly newsletter & will be posted online (www.btpta.org)
for one month on our new “CLASSIFIEDS” page starting in early November. Your ad will reach all families & staff
in the school district! The remaining deadline for 2008 ads is DECEMBER 1st. Forms may be downloaded off our

Tyson Project A+ Label Collection Program: Our school is taking part in a fundraising program sponsored by
Tyson Foods, Inc. called Tyson Project A+. Start clipping & saving labels . . . each label submitted is worth 24
cents! Through this program, our PTA has the opportunity to raise as much as $12,000 this year! For more

Friday Morning Fun: Come join us for some fun and laughter as the folks of Bethlehem Township and surrounding
towns bowl at Oakwood Lanes in Washington! We are looking for individuals who like to socialize – oh yeah - and

PTA Boxtops4Education: Our next contest will be in February and will be by HOMEROOM. When sending in
your boxtops, please note your child’s homeroom number in the bag or envelope.
REC COMMITTEE: The Rec Committee needs committee members as soon as possible. REC
BASKETBALL IS ON!!!!!!!: ATTENTION 8TH GRADERS! Anyone interested in running the scoreboard and

Senior Holiday Luncheon – The Senior Holiday luncheon will be held on December 9th at Hawke Point Golf Club.

PARENTS NIGHT OUT!! Hello parents, need to finish some last minute Christmas shopping or just need a night
out? Well, we are here to help. Who are we? We are senior Girl Scout Troop190. Our troop has provided the PTA
babysitting in previous years. We are going to be offering babysitting at the Bethlehem Township Municipal Building
on Saturday, December 13th from 5pm until 9pm. We welcome children from 3 years old through those in the 7th
grade. Dinner will be provided. The cost is $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional child. Space is limited
