Matthew - you have twice now threatened to report things that are not true and which put words in our mouth. And, we are under no obligation to answer your questions no matter how many cuss words you use or insults you hurl. We won't return your lack of professionalism with our own. What do I have to do to get you to stop emailing me? You and I both know exactly what I was going to report -- and exactly how I was going to frame it -- and it would have been 100 percent accurate. In fact, I explained that to you and to Weigel and to everyone else. BTW, dude, would you grow up, please? Answer the questions. That's your job as a spokesperson. This is downright the most immature response I've seen from a flack since EVER. And, btw, Dave Weigel and tons and tons of other reporters (including many who work for BuzzFeed) say my style of reporting is brilliant. "Genius" says one of Ben's reporters to me. So cut the crap, grow up and answer the questions -- if you're capable of doing so. Yes – that you were going to report a lie is quite clear. It's pretty damned clear, like I said before, what I was going to report. Would you guys rather not talk about Fast and Furious and instead talk about me? from Brad Woodhouse WoodhouseB@dnc.org to Matthew Boyle date Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 11:55 AM subject RE: Does Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz think President Obama and AG Holder should call Mexican president Felipe Calderon to apologize for 330 civilians murdered w Fast and Furious weapons? Matthew I called your inquiries here reindeer games – and I have made that clear repeatedly. You have a slant and an agenda and you did threaten as Ben Smith noted himself to say that the Chair did not support Holder just because we did not respond to your inquiry. That would have been an absolute lie. From: Matthew Boyle Sent: Thursday, March 15, 2012 11:52 AM To: Brad Woodhouse Subject: Re: Does Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz think President Obama and AG Holder should call Mexican president Felipe Calderon to apologize for 330 civilians murdered w Fast and Furious weapons? Dude, you're putting words in my mouth. Seriously, I didn't say I'd report she had no confidence in him. I said I'd report she wasn't supporting him. Big difference. Once again, you and I both know that. You know damn well that's exactly what I was going to report. So cut the shit, would you? Stop being a two-year-old. Anyway, so the DNC's official position is that it's "reindeer games" for a reporter to ask whether its chairwoman believes the president and his AG -- both of her party -- should apologize to Mexico for a government operation that led to at least 300 murders in that country when a congressman from the opposing political party is calling on the president and AG to do so? You said reindeer games. Nice try, though. On Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 11:44 AM, Brad Woodhouse wrote: You are doing it again – I did not say that. That was a reference to your ongoing slanted and agenda filled inquiries. And you absolutely did threaten to put words in our mouth. You said if we did not respond you would say the Chair did not have confidence in Holder which would have been a lie. Once again I kindly request you to stop email me. You and I both know I wasn't putting words in your mouth. And, so, to be clear, the official DNC position on this question - whether Obama and Holder should apologize to Calderon for the at least 300 murdered civilians for Fast and Furious -- is that it's "reindeer games"? On Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 11:39 AM, Brad Woodhouse wrote: Matthew – when a publication starts threatening us with putting words in our mouth if we don’t respond to their slanted, agenda-‐filled inquiries we tend to stop dealing with them. I'm a reporter and I want to get to the truth here. But to clarify, you're okay with being quoted in The Daily Caller bashing Mitt Romney (in my articles, too, nonetheless) but you won't answer questions when it involved DNC officials? http://dailycaller.com/2012/01/03/romney-supports-opposes-free-trade-with-china/ On Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 11:35 AM, Brad Woodhouse wrote: Matthew – your attempt at blackmail was the last straw. On Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM, Matthew Boyle wrote: Brad, Now that Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz is on the record on where she stands with regard to whether she still has confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder, my next question is: Does Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz agree or disagree with Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert in thinking that President Obama needs to call Mexican president Felipe Calderon to apologize for the 300 civilians in Mexico who were murdered with Fast and Furious weapons? Also, does Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz agree or disagree with Rep. Gohmert in thinking that Attorney General Holder should also call Calderon to apologize for the program? For your background: President Obama and AG Holder have both apologized to Border Patrol agent Brian Terry's family -- the law enforcement officer who was killed with guns his own government gave to drug cartels through Fast and Furious. Neither, however, has apologized to Mexican president Felipe Calderon for the 300 civilians who were murdered as a result of the program, or to any of the families of Fast and Furious victims in Mexico. Those victims' identities are still unknown. Even so, Holder himself has admitted during congressional testimony that more people will likely be killed with these weapons his DOJ gave to cartels.
