							Remembrance.
  Lets Join Hands and Remember

• This is our groups slogan.
• If you look to the sheet you can see we
  made a sort of logo.
• We think this is effective as it shows that
  people of different countries, race, religions;
anything, should all come together and
  remember.
      What Is Remembrance Day?

• Remembrance day is where people all over
the world come together and remember
people who have died, fought or aided in
  any war or conflict.
• People in different countries, towns and
people of different religions and beliefs
  remember people in different ways.
       What We Have Researched.
• Over the past week or so we have looked
into peoples views on remembrance and
  how remembrance should be recognised.
• We asked five people two questions:
• What do you personally think remembrance
  day means?
• How do you think we should express
  remembrance day?
                           Who We Asked.
• The people that we asked aged between 11 and 89.
• The age range meant that we could get people of
different ages ideas and views on how we should
  express remembrance at the museum.
• Here are a few of the clips:

                            Educational

• After interviewing these two primary school
  children in the museum today
• It made me realise that children at primary
age are not taught about remembrance day.
• It made me think of a brand new idea that a
primary school and a secondary school
come together to create an information and
activity pack that will be available to
  schools online.
                                    Why?

• I think that this idea is quite affective
  because children should learn about
  remembrance.
• As at primary age they don’t learn much
about remembrance day and why we should
  all remember.
       Why We Interviewed People

• To get a real insight into what people want.
Not just teenagers, but younger children,
young adults, middle aged people and the
elderly. You need to ask THEM, instead of
just presuming what they would like to see
  or what they believe.

                           International

• After interviewing this woman, What she
said made me realise that our country makes
quite a big deal of remembrance and I am
proud to be part of a community that is
  proud to remember.
                                    Idea 1

• Our first idea is to have poppy seeds for
sale, within the museum. People can donate
whatever they wish. And then they are able
to plant the seed in a designated area,
outside the museum. People will be able to
come back to the museum to see the
  poppies in bloom.
               Why We Chose Idea 1.

• We as a group, felt that having something as
a living memorial of people was effective.
Also as people are able to come back to
visit the poppies; when they bloom, they
can see that many people want to remember
  people, wars or conflicts.
                           What You Need.
• To do the poppy seed idea. All you need really is
  the seeds.
• This won’t really need to be staffed as the seeds
could be sold in the gift shop.
• So it is effective but doesn’t need much work.
• The money people donate will pay for the seeds
and whatever is left, the museum can use to pay
for any resources they may need.
Idea 2 & Why We Chose Idea 2

• Our second idea is very simple.
• We thought having colouring pages that are
  representing remembrance are something
that younger children are involved with,
also it is something the children can take
  home to remember to remember.
                    What You Need

• Well this ideas needs are pretty
  simple.
• You will need, The colouring
sheets which are available on the
  internet.
• Also you will need colouring
  pencils or crayons.
                                      Idea 3

• Our third idea is to have a love heart
  template with labels available.
• Visitors are able to draw/write on the label
and stick it onto the love heart.
• They can say what they think of
  remembrance or something they personally
  remembrance.
                Why We Chose Idea 3

• We chose idea three because we feel that if
we get people thinking about remembrance
by writing a word down. They will realise
why its so important to remember.
• Also this is an activity that the whole family
can join in with, so it will be effective.
                        What You Need

• Again The Love heart idea is very easy to
  provide for.
• You will obviously need:
• The template
• The Labels
• Colouring Pencils
• Pens
                                     Idea 4

• Our fourth idea is to have a washing line
  hanging above the exhibit.
• Where pictures of people will be pegged on.
• But visitors to the museum will be able to
bring their own image to peg on.
• So that when they look up they will just see
  faces hanging down.
                Why We Chose Idea 4

• We chose idea four as it is something visual
that people can also get involved with
  personally.
• Also it isn’t educational although it still
makes you realise how many people died.
And that we should remember them, as they
  fought for us.
                            What You Need:
• As all of the previous ideas are. This idea is very
  easy to supply.
• All you need is:
• Images.
• A washing line.
• Pegs.
• This activity will probably need supervision to
help peg the visitors own images up.
• But that is up to you.
                                     Idea 5

• Our final idea is extremely simple. But very
  effective.
• It is to have a recording listing names and
ages of dead people due to conflicts and
wars, playing constantly in the exhibit.
                Why We Chose Idea 5

• We chose idea five because as a group. We
felt that it was very effective as it makes
you realise how many people died.
• And that because of this, we should
remember them. For dying to give us a
  better future.
• Also the recording makes you think.
                         What You Need

• This idea is very easy to do, as all you need
  is the recording.
• But you need to make sure you have enough
time to record someone saying all of the
  names.
• We have tried to include everyone’s
opinions and views into our ideas.
• We hope you take our ideas into
  consideration.
• Thank you for taking the time to listen.
• If you have any questions, do not hesitate to
  ask.
