Old Business
Dick McDonald noted progress on the Hickory Safety School and invited the guests to attend.
The School is scheduled for March 25, 2010 and will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Hickory,
NC. NC Commissioner of Labor, Cherrie Berry, will open the activities. The School is tailored
to floor Supervisors and hourly employees.
Steve Baldwin noted that the School draws support from the local area and as far away as
Lynchburg, VA. and is a reasonably priced training opportunity for local industry.
Program
Jay Reardon, President of Hickory Chair
Steve Marinelli, President of Airgas National Welders
During their individual presentations, Mr. Reardon and Mr. Marinelli explained to our chapter
how important safety is to the success of their companies. They also demonstrated a personal
commitment and involvement in promoting safety while identifying the necessity for total
employee involvement in creating a sustainable, safe work environment. Hopefully their
testimonials will help each of us to promote attendance to our safety school.
There was no other business and President, Steve Baldwin, adjourned the meeting.
Respectfully Submitted,
Nancy R. Hall-Davis
