RIVER CRUISES
River cruise itineraries include voyages through countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France,
Netherlands, Hungary, Czech Republic, Italy, and more without the usual inconveniences of packing and unpacking.
The "Floating Hotels" cruise by beautiful cities, villages, castles and vineyards. On the Rhine, a variety of itineraries
depart from Amsterdam, Cologne, Mainz and Basel. On the Danube, voyages depart from Passau and Nuremburg
Germany and cruise to the Austrian and Hungarian capitals of Vienna and Budapest. In Italy, we offer round trip
cruises out of romantic Venice visiting fascinating cities like Verona, Ferrara, and Parma. On the Rhone, ships sail
from Lyon, France to the Burgundy and Beaujolais wine regions and the Mediterranean style cities of Avignon and
Arles. We offer a cruise between St. Petersburg and Moscow.
River cruises in comparison to barge cruises are different in that they cruise the rivers of Europe rather than the
small canals. The ships are larger and hold from 80 to 200+ passengers and offer cruise lengths from 3 - 21 days.
Though river cruises are not as “all inclusive” as barge cruises, many of the river cruise are including more in their
rates.
AMA Waterways is including the sightseeing in the cruises as well as free internet access on the in room tvs and
wine with dinner.
Scenic Cruises includes free internet access on the in room tvs, wine with lunch and dinner, an alternative Italian
restaurant, sightseeing (with multiple tours available in some ports) and gratuities included in their cruise rates.
AMA, Arosa, Royal Crown and Scenic cruises also feature bicycles on board for the guest’s use. AMA, Arosa,
Scenic and some of the Croisi ships have elevators on board. You can also find fitness centers, jacuzzi, massage
and even swimming pools on some of the cruise lines.
The river cruises do not allow smoking inside the ships. Most of the cruise lines have a designated area on the
sun deck that smoking is allowed in.
Most of the river cruise lines in our brochure feature open seating for all meals. AMA, Royal Crown and Scenic
have multiple course options as well as additional entree selections. Croisi has one entree only but will provide
other dishes for special diets. Though Arosa has a buffet for all meals, their selections are outstanding with a wide
array of food options.

The Dutch & Belgium Waterways – Holland in Spring time
It’s no coincidence that the Low Countries are the true home of landscape painting. As a cruise through the canals
and rivers of the Netherlands soon demonstrates, the scenery here has a tranquil magic and sense of space that
owes much to the fascinating interplay between sky, land and water. Lovely though the natural surroundings might be,
though, the Dutch themselves have added the crucial finishing touches. It’s not just the countless windmills or the
lovely towns of gabled houses flanking quaint harbors and cobbled squares. Nor the Many fascinating cities like
Amsterdam and Rotterdam that remind one with a jolt that the Netherlands is at the cutting edge of modern
commerce and culture. Rather, it’s those amazing fields of flowers that erupt into an unforgettable symphony of
colors during the spring and summer. A true feast for the eyes, for sure, after which an excursion to the historic
Belgian city Antwerp is the perfect way to put ‘the icing on the cake’.

Royal Crown The Grand Rhine Journey
In addition to being one of Europe’s most important rivers, the Rhine is also one of its most beautiful. It originates in southeastern
Switzerland and the Upper Rhine flows toward Basel, then into Germany where the Middle Rhine Valley is flanked by pastoral
towns, vineyards and dozens of castles and fortresses. River cruise visitors experience all these delights and more as they cruise
along the river. Below Bonn, the Lower Rhine flows through France and into the Netherlands, where it divides into delta arms and
flows into the North Sea. The river is 820 miles long and connects with important tributaries such as the Neckar, Main and Moselle.
It is such an important and historic river for all of Europe that a Rhine river cruise will provide travelers access to many of
Europe’s treasures.

might not be any other English speaking guests, though
the staff speak English. All dates will feature French
and German language guests (many Europeans speak
English). Many of the crew speak English. We can give
you some dates that already have other English speaking
guests booked if you prefer.
Private tours can be arranged with an English speaking
guide. All ships feature 50 - 80 twin cabins with private
bath, central a/h, and 90% of the ships were built

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please read carefully the General Information and Conditions that follow. They limit our liability and that of the associate
companies providing services purchased. In addition, they outline the terms and conditions under which Europeanbarging
will operate. Payment of deposit by the passenger represents acceptance by the purchaser of the terms and conditions
as follows:
FARES AND RATES - Determined as of September 2011 and subject to change without notice. Subject to currency
fluctuation, change in air fare, and/or other rate changes by suppliers. Rates are guaranteed upon receipt of full payment,
except in seasonality rate change.
RESERVATIONS/CONFIRMATIONS - Subject to availability. After a reservation has been made, Europeanbarging
will provide confirmation within 24 - 72 hours. Deposit of $400 per person is due within 7 days of confirmation on river
cruises. Full payment is due for airlines. Final payment for river cruise due 70 days before departure. For bookings made
with 70 days of departure, full payment is due with booking.
CANCELLATIONS - Cancellation requests must be received in our office in writing. Full refund less a $75 administrative
fee per person for any cancellation received up to 61 days prior to departure for land tours, in addition to the following
penalties:
River Cruises
Most of our cruises are non-refundable once any monies have been paid. Ama and Scenic cruises offer a partial
refund on the deposit and cruise if cancellation occures before 60 days from cruise departure.
AIRLINES - Amount varies, if allowed by airline once ticketed. Many airline tickets are fully non-refundable once the
tickets have been issued.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS - A valid passport is required for each passenger, with an expiration date of at least 6 months
after scheduled departure date for Europe.
TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE - is strongly recommended for your protection. Ask at time of reservations
for details.
RESPONSIBILITY - Europeanbarging and/or its agent representatives, and suppliers of service assume no responsibility
for injury, death, damage, loss or delay incurred by any person in connection with the cruise/tour, by reason of any event
beyond the control of Europeanbarging or loss occasioned by neglect default, strikes, wars, hostilities, civil disturbances or
resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God. Europeanbarging reserves the right to withdraw any and all cruise/tour at any
time should conditions warrant, to refuse to accept or retain any person(s) as tour participants(s), to alter or cancel the
itinerary whenever Europeanbarging deems it necessary for the comfort, convenience or safety of the passengers of the
tour(s). All cruise/tour itineraries and prices may be affected by alterations in river/canal, air or railroad services of the various
countries, or by other causes. The right is reserved to cancel the cruise/tour prior to departure. In such case, full refund of
all payments will constitute full settlement with the passenger. The airlines concerned are not held responsible for any act,
omission or event during the time the passengers are not on board their airplanes or conveyance. The passenger contracts,
in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and the purchaser or
these cruise/tour and/or passenger. Any and/or all transportation companies herein mentioned shall have or incur no
responsibility or liability to any traveler aside from their liability as common carriers.
