 Glades Interagency Network (GIN) Annual Community Recognition Luncheon was held
 April 20, 2010 at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center in Belle Glade. Honorees were
 recognized for having made outstanding contributions to the Glades Communities.

Director of the Early Care and Education Department - Palm Beach,

Honored at GIN Luncheon

 From the Family Central Inc.'s Eblast Update- Friday, April 23, 2010

 Family Central Director of Early Care and Education Honored
 during Community Recognition Luncheon

 Barry Miller, Director of the Early Care and Education Department - Palm Beach, was
 an honoree at the Glades Interagency Network (GIN) Annual Community Recognition
 Luncheon held April 20, 2010 at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center in Belle Glade.
 The honorees were recognized for having made outstanding contributions to the Glades
 Communities.

 Barry was nominated for his work with child care providers in promoting quality child
 care and quality supports to providers throughout the Glades communities. Barry
 ensures that Glades child care providers have a forum to seek information, receive
 relevant updates on issues that affect their child care business and the families and
 children they serve, and have continuing education offerings in the western community.
 Barry was instrumental in planning a Glades Provider Workshop, held November 2009
 for child care center owners/directors and February 2010 for family child care home
 providers. The Workshop was a coordinated effort among a group of concerned child
 care providers to better organize and advocate for the important issues and resources
 that affect the early care and education community and stakeholders.

The American Red Cross Lakeside Communities' Service Center

8th Annual Golf Tournament

 The American Red Cross Lakeside Communities' Service Center is hosting its 8th
 Annual Golf Tournament at Sugarcane Golf Club in Belle Glade on May 22, 2010
 at 7:30am.

 Golfers can participate in the tournament for $70 each, including golf cart, goodie bag,
 course beverages and lunch.

 Proceeds support disaster victims, including those affected by home fires, in Western
 Palm Beach county.

The Children's Project of Palm Beach

 The Early Childhood Initiative Foundation, spearheaded by Dave Lawrence of The
 Children's Trust in Miami-Dade County (former editor of The Miami Herald), is
 piloting The Children's Project of Palm Beach (CPPB)- a countywide outreach
 feasibility study and non-partisan effort about the potential for organizing and building a
 politically powerful Children's Movement of Florida, that will take place during April and
 May. The goal during these two months is to learn how media messages and grassroots
 organization might educate and inform Palm Beach County residents about essential
 issues regarding children in order to ensure that they are prepared and ready to learn in
 school and able to succeed in life. And we would very much appreciate your much
 desired assistance in helping us make this study a success.

2010 Exceptional Student Education Spring Family Forum

 The School District of Palm Beach County's Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
 Advisory Committee is hosting the Spring Family Forum on Thursday, April 29th

 The Forum is for parents/guardians with a child with a disability who is receiving ESE
 services and would like additional information. It will feature approximately 18
 agencies displaying their organization's resources. The keynote speaker for the Forum
 is Laura Pincus, the ESE Director in Palm Beach County, who will give a short
 presentation and address parent's questions about ESE services.

 The event will take place at Royal Palm Beach High School, and the agency resource
 fair begins at 5:30 pm. The speaker begins at approximately 6:45 pm.

 Please share this information with interested parents. Also, if your organization
 provides any transportation assistance to help get your parents to the event, that would
 be helpful too.

 Summer is just around the corner. Our program (PYEA) is now
 accepting enrollment applications. Daily activities include academic
 enrichment, arts and crafts, social skills, and field trips. Specialty camps

Six Flags Friends Scholarships

 Six Flags Friends Scholarships - Do you know a young leader in your community
 who is inspiring others to take action, and make their community a better place to live
 in? Six Flags Friends has teamed up with DoSomething.org to award $1500 college
 scholarships to recognize those leaders who are making a difference through their
 dedication, commitment, and proven leadership skills. Must be 25 years old and

Nonprofit Hurricane Preparedness Day

 The Annual Nonprofit Hurricane Preparedness Day brings together many disciplines from the

NAMI Launches StrengthofUs.org - New Social Networking Web site
for Young Adults

 The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has launched StrengthofUs.org, a new
 online community where young adults living with mental health concerns can provide
 mutual support in navigating unique challenges and opportunities during the critical
 transition years from ages 18 to 25.

 Developed by young adults, StrengthofUs.org is a user-driven social networking
 community where members can connect with peers, share personal stories, creativity
 and helpful resources by writing and responding to blog entries, engaging in discussion
 groups and sharing videos, photos and other news.

Summer Camp Spots Available

 The Engrafted Word Worship Center/ Duo Center is now taking applications
 for summer campers from ages 5-17. If you or anyone you know is looking
 for a reasonable, yet wonderful summer camp for their children or family,
 please consider this camp. We have a very event filled summer planned with
 a spirit of excellence. We will provide the following:

 1. Free meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack)
 2. Field trips every Friday and sometimes mid-week. (All field trips are FREE)
 3. We are a nine (9) week program (1 week longer than most camps)
 4. We have great parent friendly Hours. (7-7:30am- 6:00pm)
 5. Discounts available if you have more than 1 child.
 6. We have our own vans for transportation to and from our field trips.
 7. We have flat screen televisions for the campers to play the video games
 (Playstation 3, xbox 360, Wii)
 8. You are welcome to come and tour our facility where the camp will be
 hosed.
