Beaufort County Airport FY-09 FAA Airport Improvement Program Grant Offer
DATE: July 22, 2009 BACKGROUND. Attachedis a copy of the grant offer from the FAA to Beaufort County for FY-09 Airport Improvement Program (AIP) projects at the BeaufortCounty Airport at Lady's Island.The total grant offer is in the amountof$I,012,466.00. The projects to be funded with this grant include; runway mill and overlay, rehabilitate airport visual navigational aids, additional tree removal and mitigation expenses,and additional funding for the Airport Master Plan Study. The County's 2.5% matching share will be $26,644.00 which has been includedas a separate line item in the Airport's 2010 ProposedOperating Budget. We will also be requesting2.5% matching funds from the SC Division ofAeronautics. This grant offer needs to be accepted, fuUy executed, and returned to the FAA not later than August 21, 2009. The Airports Board favorably endorses these projects. RECOMMENDATION. That the Public Facilities Committeeapprove and recommend to County Council acceptanceofthe FY-09 FAA AlP Grant Offer in the amount of $1,012,466.00 for the Beaufort County Airport at Lady's Island.
