							Using the Slide Sorter
 Demonstration by Jon Moss
         Directions - Activity 1
Use the slide sorter to put the numbers and symbols in
the correct order. Click on View, then select Slide
Sorter. If the slides are too small, click on View, then
select Zoom, and increase the size of the slide view.
         Directions - Activity 2
The next few slides share sentences about sea floor
spreading, but they are not in the right order. Use the
slide sorter to put the sentences in order.
The water cools the magma and
 turns it into new solid crust.
 Magma comes up through the
gap and makes contact with the
           water.
A gap opens between the plates,
       at the fault line.
  Tectonic plates move apart
because of the movement of the
magma under the earth’s crust.
         Directions - Activity 3
Use the slide sorter to put these recent historical events
in order.

 On September 25th, Sandra Day
   O'Connor was sworn in as the
first female judge on the Supreme
  Court. Mrs. O'Connor had been
 nominated by President Reagan.
The USS Cole, a Guided Missile
Destroyer, was attacked while on
  a refueling stop in Aden. The
  ship was attacked by suicide
bombers in a small inflatable boat
 which came alongside and then
            detonated.
In Washington, D.C., a peace agreement
 was signed between Egypt and Israel.
The treaties, which were called the Camp
  David Accords, called for a complete
Israeli withdrawal from Sinai. In return,
   Egypt would recognize Israel and
 maintain full diplomatic relations with
                   her.
Apple Computer, a newly formed
 computer company, introduced
 the Apple II personal computer.
  Apple II was the first seriouys
home computer, and would result
in a desktop computer resolution
      throughout the world.
   Hurricane Katrina, a strong
 category storm struck the Gulf
   Coast near the mouth of the
  Mississippi River. The storm
brought widespread devastation
  the Gulf Coast were it struck
flattening town and destroying
  much of what was in its past.
