        Tender are invited by manual/Electronic Tender (e-tender) in prescribed from
by the under signed on behalf of the Managing Director, KNNL, Bangalore from
contractors registered with KPWD class –I and above for the work mentioned in the
below works. These tenders are through e-tendering or by manual tendering system.
While applying for the tender the contractor shall invariably mention whether they
want to submit their by manually/e-tendering.
        The blank tender documents can obtained through website to
www.knnlindia.com and by linking to e-tender (i.e. once you are in the above website
click on e-tender wizard, which will link www.tenderwizard.com Where electronic
tendering is provided and can be submitted through electronic tender box available
there in or the blank tender documents obtained and submitted manually in the
offices mentioned below.
1. Construction of MCPC Road bridge at ch: 4+000 KM of kotabal Tallihal Road
   in Ron Taluka. Amount put to tender Rs. 100.00 Lakhs and EMD amount
   Rs.1.00.000/-
Note:
      1. The aspiring contractors who have not previously obtained the user ID
         and password for participating in e-tendering in KNNL may now obtain
         the same by requesting in writing to the registered office KNNL,
         Bangalore on or before 12-04-2005.
      2. the aspiring bidder may i) submit their application for blank tender
         documents.ii) Received blank tender documents and iii) submit the
         sealed tenders. At any of the following places on the notified dates for

      3. The contractors can request for manually/ e-tender documents on 18-
         04-2005 up to 5.00 pm. The cast of tender document (non refundable).
         Whill applying the contractor should enter the particulars if the
         payment like D.D N umbers, Date: Amount and name of bank .The D.D
         Bankers cheque drawn in favour of Executive Engineer, KNNL MRBCC
         Division No.5, Ron (Dist: Gadag).
         On any schedule bank payable at State Bank of India, Ron D.D should
         be submitted at the above mentioned offices on 19.04.2005 during
         office hours.
      4. The contractors can have access to manual / e- tender form (tender
         documents)      on 25.04.2005 up to 4.00 pm.
      5. Last date for submission of completed manual / e-tender documents is
         on 28.04.2005 up to 4.00 pm.
      6. The e-tendering contractors will obtain tender documents from the
         website till then and submit the completed tender documents in the e-
         tender bid on the website itself the EMD shall be scanned and attached
         to the e-tender documents and original EMD documents shall be
         submitted in person to the Executive Engineer, KNNL MRBCC Division
         No.5, Ron, before opening of the tender on 29.04.2005 during office
         hours,.
      7. Date of opening of manual / e-tender on 30.04.2005 at 11.00 am or any
         convenient date in office of the registered office KNNL, 4 th Floor Coffee
         Board Building No 1,Dr.B.R Ambedkar veedhi,Bangalore-560001or if
         not submitted their applications for e-tendering ,the completed tenders
         are opening in the office of the Executive Engineer, KNNL MRBCC
         Division No.5, Ron 30.04.2005 at 11.00am
      8. EMD should be in the form of DD or Bankers cheque or bank guarantee
         of a nationalized or scheduled bank drawn in favour of Executive
         Engineer, KNNL MRBCC Division No.5, Ron The validity of EMD shall
         be for a period of 180 days (One hundred eight days) from the date of
         opening of tender.
      9. The following certificates shall be scanned and attached to e-tender /
         manual tender documents (a) Contractors registration certificates, (b)
         Latest income tax clearance certificates,(c) K.S.T clearance certificates,
         and (d) Work done certificates for last five years.
          10. The e-tendering Contractors should attach his scanned signature to the
              schedule “B” befire submitting the same.
          11. The amount of blank tender form for each work is Rs.17.250/-

      Conditions:- 1)The contractors willing to purchase the blank tender forms for
above works the following eligibility have compulsory otherwise applications for blank
tender forms will not be considered.
1) Similar nature of work costing not less than 30%(including asphalting work
   (items) put to tender in any of the financial year for last 5(five) years (i.e. 2000-
   01,2001-02,2002-03,2003-04,2004-05 ) executed and enclose the such original
   work done certificate with asphalting items ) duly signed from the competent
   authority of the work .
2) Contractors should have ownership/hire-charge/lease agreement of the following
   machineries and they also produce the connected ownership documents from
   owners and hire-charge/lease Agreement contractor should produce the an
   affidavit on bond paper duly signed by the machinery owners and Notary
   signature along with ownership documents of relevant machineries .
             Such affidavit should be executed after the date of this tender
             notification and produce the original Affidavit along with application.

5) Cost of blank tender form is to be paid in form D.D drawn in favour of Chief
   Engineer/ Bagalkot Town Development Authority Bagalkot. The last date of
   receipt of Application form for blank tender forms is dt: 12-04-2005 to 15-04-
   2005 up to 1-30 pm, Contractor willing to get blank tender forms through Post or
   Courier should pay an additional amount of Rs.200/- and the authority is not
   responsible for any delay receipt or damages caused to the tender schedules and
   any correspondence in the matter will not be entertained. Contractors must
   produce the contract registration pass book at the time of receiving the Blank
   tender forms. Blank tender form will be issued on 20-04-2005 to 23-04-2005 up
   to 1-30 pm.
6) Completed sealed Cover-1 and Cover-2 completed tenders will be received in
   sealed tender box in this office on 27-04-2005 up to 1-00 pm. If the contractor
   willing to send Cover-1 and Cover-2 completed tenders by post or courier service,
   it should reach this office within 1-00 pm on 27-04-05 otherwise tenders will not
   be considered and this Authority is not responsible for any delayed receipt or
   damages if any caused to tender schedule and correspondence in the matter will
   not be entertained. The sealed tender box will be opened on 28-04-2005 at 11.00
   am. positively or otherwise date and time of opening the tenders will be notified
   on office notice board.
        Sealed Cover-1 will be opened first and after evaluation Cover-2 of those
   contractors succeeded in Cover-1 will be opened (only succeeded tenders).
7) The contractor should produce invariably additional performance security in the
    form of Bank Guarantee in the name of Chief Engineer BTDA Bagalkot from
    nationalised/ scheduled Bank valid up to tender period for an amount equivalent
    to the difference between the quoted item rates by the contractor & 75% of
    sanctioned estimate item rates at the time of agreement for the concerned work.
8) The contractor should enclose the E.M.D along with completed Cover-1 tenders in
    the from of DD/ pay Order/ F.D.R/ Bank Guarantee from nationalised/
    scheduled Bank having currency up to 180 days in the name of Chief Engineer
    B.T.D.A Bagalkot, or other wise such tenders will be rejected.
9) If any Government holydays are declared on above mentioned dates then the next
    working day will be considered.
10) Cost of the Blank tender forms will not be refundable.
11) The tender accepting authority reserves the right to reject any or all tenders
    without giving any reasons thereof.

   c) Sales Tax and Income Tax clearance certificate up to 2003-04 and for 2004-05
       returns submitted copy to be enclosed.
   d) The annual turnover of the contractor in any one of the last five years should
       not be less than 40% of the amount put to tender.
   e) Work coming under each package of difference Reh. centre should be
       commenced simultaneously.
     The tender should be submitted in 2 covers.
    a) The first cover shall contain the required EMD (Earnest Money Deposit). It
        shall be furnished in the form of Demand Draft or Bankers Cheque or Call
        depositor, Bank Guarantee, Term Deposits of any nationalized / Scheduled
        Bank or pledged N.S.C. payable to the Executive Engineer, UKP Reh. Division
        No.2, Almatti. Tenders received without EMD will be rejected. The validity
        period of EMD shall be for minimum period of 180 (one hundred eighty) days
        from the date of opening of tenders.
    b) The second cover shall contain the completed price bid document.
        The cover containing EMD’s will be opened first and the second cover
        containing price bid document will be opened, if the EMD submitted is in
        order.
5) The completed tender documents will be received from 25.4.2005 to 30.4.2005
    during the office hours and for the last date i.e., on 30.4.2005 upto 12.00 noon in
    the above mentioned offices.
6) The tenders received will be opened in the office of the General Manager, R&R,
    Navanagar, Bagalkot on 2.5.2005 at 11.00 am.
7) If any of the above date happens to be a General Holidays, the next working day
    will holds good.
8) Further information may be had from the office of the under signed, during office
    hours.
9) Tendering by a joint venture of contractors is permissible subject to the following
        conditions:
    a) The joint venture shall have been formed prior to the tendering and the blank
        tender form shall have been applied for and purchased and by the joint
        venture itself.
    b) Every partner of the joint venture shall have been enrolled in the KBJNL
        selection list of the contractor.
    c) The principal partner of the joint venture, duly authorised with a legally
        binding power of attorney to apply for the tender form and to sign the tender
        on behalf of joint venture, shall have been enrolled in the enrolment category
        eligibility for tendering.
    d) A contractor is not eligible to participate as partner of more than one joint
        venture.
10)     Conditional tenders are liable to be rejected. The officer competent to accept
        the tender shall have the right to reject any or all the tenders without
        assigning any reasons whatsoever.
11)     Mobilisation advance will not be paid.
12)     The price variation clause will not be operated for above work.
13)     The contractor those who are already having the works of more than Rs.1.00
        Crores or the work of two packages are not eligible to apply for this tender.
14)     The intending contractors can also submit the application for blank tender
        booklets through post/ courier. Blank tender booklets will be sent by post.
        And the contractor may also submit the completed tender document by
        post/courier. But this office is not responsible for any postal/ courier delay or
        damages of tender documents. For this, intending contractor should submit
        Rs. 200.00 as postal expenses separately in the form of D.D/Banker’s cheque

password for participating in e-tendering in KNNL may now obtain the same by
requesting in writing to the registered office KNNL Bangalore on 29.4.2005 up to 5.30
p.m.
   3. Application for tender documents will be received on 2.5.2005 up to 5.30 p.m.
       The cost of blank tender booklets per set including KST and surcharge is Rs:
       29000.00 (Rs. Twenty Nine thousand only) per package. It is not refundable
       and shall be in the form of Demand draft drawn in favor of Executive
       Engineer, KNNL GRBCC Division No. 5 Koujalagi payable at S.B.I Gokak
       branch and shall be attached with the application.
   4. Blank tender documents will be issued on 13.5.2005 on production of pre –
       qualification certificate for tendering lift irrigation works. Receiving of
    application, Issuing of blank tender documents & Receiving of filled tender
    documents will be at following offices.

    ii)     Central office of KNNL, Walmi Building, Belgaum Road, Belur

5. A pre-bid conference will be held on 9.5.2005 at the office of the Managing
    Director KNNL, 4th floor Coffee Board Building Dr.B.R.Ambedkar veedhi
    Bangalore 560 001.
6. The completed tender bids will be received at any of above mentioned offices
    on 19.5.2005 between 11.00 am and 4.00 pm. The tender documents will be
    opened on 23.5.2005 at 11.00 hrs. Or any other convenient date in presence
    of tenderers or their representatives by the Executive Engineer, KNNL, GRBCC
    Division No. 5 Koujalagi in the office of the Managing Director, KNNL, 4th floor,
    coffee Board Building Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Veedhi Bangalore 560001. The
    original EMD document shall be submitted by the e-tenderers in person to
    Executive Engineer KNNL GRBCC Dn. No. 5 Koujalagi on or before 20.5.2005
    up to 5.30pm.
7. This office will not be responsible for any postal delay.
8. The KNNL reserves the right of rejecting all or any of the tenders without
    assigning any reasons. If the rate(s) quoted by the contractor for any item(s) of
    work is/are below 75% of the estimated rates of Nigam, then the successful
    contractor shall furnish an additional performance security in the form of
    Bank Guarantee for an amount equivalent to the difference between the cost
    as per quoted percentage and 75% of the estimated rates of the all such items.
9. Any additional information / clarification may be obtained from the office of

10. In additional to the normal tendering procedure in order to enhance
    transparency through automation in the tendering process KNNL as
    introduced electronic tendering process and also the tender documents can be
    obtained and completed tender documents can be submitted through
    electronic tender box. This facility is available through WWW.KNNLINDIA.COM
11. While applying the contractor should clarify, specify the office from where he
    wishes to collect the blank tender documents.
12. Eligibility and pre – qualification conditions: -
    a)      The Bidder should have executed at least one work of similar nature of
            work and complete satisfactorily on their own name as enrolled in
            KNNL costing not less than Rs. 140.00 lakhs. They should support their
            application with work done certificate from an officer of Government
            Department or Government undertakings not below the rank of the
            Executive Engineer or equivalent post.
    b)      The bidder should have annual turnover of Rs.140.00 lakhs any one
            financial year during proceeding 3 years.
13. The intending contractors should note that in case there is in part or whole of
    land required for the work not yet acquired by the Nigam, it shall be the
    responsibility of the contractor to take possession of such land by consent of
      the owner before commencement of work at no extra cost to the Nigam and no
      claims what-so-ever relating to non availability of land would be entertained.
   14 Contractor should note that the cost of work on hand in KNNL shall not
   exceed Rs. 20.00 crores including cost of work now tendering but excluding any

                (Through e-Tendering and Manual system)
Manual (conventional) and Electronic tender on TURNKEY BASIS are invited by the
Executive Engineer, K.N.N.L., UTP Divn, Ranebennur of behalf of M.D, K.N.N.L.,
BANGALORE from enlisted pre-qualified contractors under K.N.N.L. for L.I Schemes
and also from eligible contractors who fulfill the pre-qualification condition, who may
have joint venture with already registered Category-I contractors (for civil works)
with K.N.N.L as lead partner for taking up Guddada Mallapura Lift Irrigation scheme
in Byadagi taluk,Haveri district,Karnataka state.
    The tenders are through manual tender and e- tendering in order to enhance the
Transparency in tendering process as per the Water Resources Department,
Government of Karnataka Circular Dt: 12.02.04.
PRE-QUALIFICATION CONDITIONS:-
    The contractors who intend to get pre-qualified for taking up the above lift
irrigation work under K.N.N.L. should submit the details mentioned below along with
requisition for blank tender documents . The blank tender documents will be issued
to those contractors who meet the pre-qualification criteria for taking up the lift
irrigation work.
(Certificates should be obtained from officer not below the rank of Executive
Engineer)
    1. The intending bidder should furnish the certificate of Registration issued by
        State/centre/Public Sector organization.
    2. The contractor should furnish the name of the Individual/firm with address &
        telephone No. with place of Registration, year of Incorporation etc.
    3. The application made by the firm/company, shall be signed by a person
        holding the power of attorney, in which case a copy of power of attorney shall
        be submitted.
    4. The Bidder/firm/company should have an annual financial turn over
        minimum Rs. 15 crore in one year during the last five years.
    5. Latest copies of income tax & sales tax clearance certificates shall be
        enclosed.
    6. The intending Bidder/firm/company should have satisfactorily completed at
        least one similar type of project like Lift irrigation, water supply projects
        involving lift components from surface source of water, jack well/rising
        main/pumping machinery on turn key basis including design, execution,
        operation and maintenance.
7. The intending Bidder/firm/company should furnish list of man power
   available with them for taking up the work.
8. The intending Bidder should furnish the details of certification of tie-up with
   manufacturer of pumping machinery & electrical works with contractor for
   execution of electro-mechanical components of L.I. Schemes.
9. Contractors other than those enlisted in K.N.N.L should furnish the ownership
   certificates of the following machineries:
      a) Excavator of not less than 0.9 Cum capacity      3 to 5 Nos.
      b) Tippers of not less than 4 Cum capacity 10 to 15 Nos.
      c) Concrete mixer of not less than 7 Cft capacity with hopper 6 Nos.
      d) DRR not less than 8-10 tonnes capacity                          2Nos.
      e) All other equipments required for the construction of work such as
           water tanker, vibrators etc.

          For Manual Tendering
           The aspiring bidders may:
1    Submit their application for tender documents, receive blank tender
     documents, submit the sealed tenders at any of the following places on the
     notified dates.

2.    Central office of K.N.N.L. WALMI Building Belgaum road Belur, Dharwad-

3.    Office of the Engineer-in-Chief, K.N.N.L., UTP Zone, Shimoga.
4.    Office of the Executive Engineer, K.N.N.L., UTP Division, Magod Road,
      Ranebennur-The cost of blank tender booklets per set including KST and
      surcharge is Rs. 28,750/-(Rs. Twenty eight thousand seven hundred & fifty
      only) per package. It is not refundable and shall be in the form Crossed
      Demand Draft drawn in favour of Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd,
      Ranebennur of any schedule bank payable at Ranebennur and shall be
      attached with the application
         In addition to the normal tendering procedure in order to enhance
      transparency through automation in the tendering process, KNNL has
      introduced electronic tendering process
      For e – Tendering:-
         1) The blank tender documents can be obtained through web site
             www.knnlindia.com and by linking to e-tender (i.e Once you are in the
             web site click on e-Tender wizard which will link www. Tenderwizard
             com where electronic tendering is provided) and can be submitted
             through electronic tender box available their in also
         2) The contractors can request for e- Tendering documents and submitting
             the pre-qualification details on 27.04.2005 up to 5.30 p.m. in the KNNL
             Website www.knnlindia.com link e-Tender document on payment (Non
             refundable) of Rs. 28,750/- towards the cost of e-Tender document
             including KST and surcharge While applying the contractor should
             enter the particulars of payments like numbers of D.D, Date, amount
             and name of the Bank Contractors who are applying through e-
             tendering should submit their DD & Pre-Qualification details at
             Division office Ranebennur on or before 29.04.2005.
         3) Eligibility confirmation for contractors who have responded for pre-
             qualification conditions will be intimated.
                                MODE OF PAYMENT
       The payment is by Demand Draft (DD) or Bankers cheque drawn in favour of
       “KARNAKATA NEERAVARI NIGAM LIMITED ” of any scheduled bank
      Nationalized bank payable at Ranebennur. The D.D. Shall be submitted in
     any one of the following offices on 29.04.2005 during office hours (Non
     Refundable).
             a) Registered office of the Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited, 4the
             Coffee Board Building, Dr, B. R. Amendkar Veedhi, Bangalore.
         b) Central office of KNNL, WALMI Building, Belgaum road Belur,
              Dharwad - 580 007.
         c) Office of the Engineer-in-Chief, K.N.N.L., UTP Zone, Shimoga.
              d) Office of the Executive Engineer, K.N.N.L., UTP Divn. Ranebennur-
              581115.
              8) The contractors can have access to e- Tender document from 12-05-
              2005.
              9) A pre-bid conference will be intimated.
              10) Last date for submission of completed e-Tender document is 23-5-2005
              up to 4.00 p.m.
              11) Opening of Envelope –II containing Bid security and Technical Bid
              Envelopes will be opened in the office of The Managing Director, K.N.N.L.,
              4th floor, Coffee Board Building Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veeedhi, on dated
               26-5-2005 At 11.00 AM.
              12) Opening of price bids will be intimated.
              13) The contractor will obtain tender document from the web site fill them
              submit the Completed tendered document in to electronic tender box on
              the web site it self. The EMD shall be scanned and attached to the e-tender
              document and Original E.M.D. document shall be submitted in person
              Executive Engineer K.N.N.L UTP Divn, Ranebennur on or before 24-5-2005
              during office hours.
              For Manual Tendering:-
              A)Submission of requisition for blank tender document along with
               pre- qualification details on 27-4-2005. (During office hours)
              B) Eligibility confirmation for contractors who have responded for
                   Pre- qualification conditions will be intimate
                C) Issue of blank tender documents:
i) At any of the above four places as requested by the contractor on 12-5-2005.
     (During office hours)
 ii) At the office of the undersignd 12.05.2005 to 13.05 (During office hours)
 D) A pre-bid conference will be intimated.
 E) Submission of completed tender documents on 23-5-2005 up to 4.00 p.m
   F) Opening of Enveloped Envelope II containing EMD and Technical Bid Envelopes
        will be opened in the office of The Managing Director, K.N.N.L, 4th Coffee Board
        Building Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veedhi on dated 26-5-2005 at 11.00 A.M.
    G) Opening of price bids will be intimated later.
     II) E.M.D. should be in the from D.D or Bank Guarantee of a Nationalized or
          scheduled Bank drawn in favour of Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd., payable
          at Ranebennur. Tender received without EMD shall be rejected.
     III) The validity period for E.M.D. shall be for a minimum period of 180 Days from
          the date of opening of tenders.
             Note:
1. The intending bidders are advised to visit the site of work before attending the pre
bid meeting & also before submitting their tenders.
2. The K.N.N.L reserves the right of rejecting all or any of the tenders without
assigning any reasons. The successful bidder should produce an additional Bank
Guarantee for the difference amount below25% if the quoted rates are below 25% of
the estimate rates, before executing agreement with K.N.N.L.
3. The following certificates shall be scanned and attached to e-tender document.
              i) Contractors enrollment letter
              j) Employee Provident Fund (EPF) registration certificate.
              k) Latest income tax clearance certificate
              l) Karnataka Sales Tax Clearance Certificate.
  4) All the above original certificate shall be produced at the time of opening of tenders
  for verification.
  5) Any documents submitted through post/courier is at the risk of contractor,
  K.N.N.L, is not responsible for any postal delay.
  6) The contractor should attach his/her scanned signature to the schedule-B before
  submitting the tender.
  7) If any of the dates mentioned above happens to be a general holiday the next
  working day will hold good.

  10) Conditional tender are liable to be rejected. The officer competent to accept the
  tender shall have the right to reject any or all the tenders without assigning any
  reason whatsoever.
  11) Corrigendum will be published in the website for all modification/corrections if
      any.
  12)The intending contractor should note that if any of the lands (either part or parts
  or whole) required for the work is not yet acquired by Nigam it shall be the
  responsibility of the contractor to take possession of such lands and start the work
  by consent of owner before commencement of work at no extra cost to the Nigam and
  no claims whatsoever relating to non availability of land would be entertained.
