Witchcraft and Mediums? What does God's Word Say?

How serious do we take God's word concerning the things of darkness?

I don't know about anyone else here; But have you noticed the increasing movies, TV shows, literature,
and music, 'that is mystical in thier content'?

If I may, let me expound some more..........

Today, I felt the pull on my heart to search scripture concerning the things of the occult, witchcraft,
mediums, spiritists, ect.

My son has been coming home from school, bringing the "Scholastic" order forms home, atleast once
a month.
In these order paper catalogs, ' Are books for sale that are mostly ,' Whichcraft, Wizardology,
Dragonology, Yu Gio, Casting spells, Harry Potter, Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, A Series of
Unfortunate events, Magic, ' just to name a few.
This is very disrurbing to me, Everything that My son brings home, goes right in the trash!
I have already had a meeting with his teacher about; Her reading Harry Potter to the students in her
class room.
My son is to leave the class when that trash is being read to the kids'. I am really starting to worry, and
have considered Homeschooling.

I know that Satan's time is short, and he is gearing alot of his evils to the children. I think one of the
main reasons for this, is that the Kingdom of God belongs to the little children! ( Matt. 18:1-10)
Are you putting a stumbling block before your children, by allowing them, and subjecting them, to evil
things such as witchcraft and the occult?

Some may think, that these cartoons, movies, and books; Are inoccent fun, and that it is mysterious
and exciting to the children. I have even heard that the "Harry Potter books encourage reading skills
in your childs mind." I've heard that whatever your child is interested in reading, let them read it," as
long as they are reading, they are learning! " Just what are your children " learning"?!!!

Do you participate and indulge in occultic material?
Do you read your Horoscopes every morning in the paper, to even get a good laugh, if not, believe it?
Are you interested in seeing a medium, or having your Tarot card reading?
Have you recently watched a movie that was mystical and magical?
Anything that God has told us to stay away from or Beware of?

To be honest with you, I used to do peoples Tarot card readings, I participated in trying to
communicate with the dead, I used to " Scry", I was into Occultic music and practices often in my
past, and these "mysteries" are very real and NO JOKE! The occult is not a game, and many things
have happened to myself and others, that has scared the daylights out of me, of just how real, Satan
worship can be! "Long story".
Anyways.....
Please read the verses that I have looked up, and you tell me what God thinks of occultism, witchcraft,
                                                     1
ect.

Leviticus 19:31
' Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out, to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your
God.'

(20:6)
As for the person who turns to mediums and spiritists, to play the harlot after them, I will also set my
face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.
(20:27)
Now a man or a woman who is a medium or spiritist, shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned
with stones, their blood guiltiness is apon them."

Deuteronomy 18: 10-14
" There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the
fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,
(11) or one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.
(12) " For whoever does these things is detestable to the LORD; and because of these detestable things
the LORD your God will drive them out before you.
(13) " You shall be blameless before the LORD your God.
(14) " For those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to
diviners, but as for you, the LORD your God has not allowed you to do so.

If you want to read an interesting story about Saul going to see a medium, to have her call up Samuel;
Read 1 (Samuel Ch. 28)

2 Kings 21:6
And he ( Manasseh) made his son pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and used divination, and
dealt with mediums and spiritists, He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking Him to anger.

Isaiah 8:19
And when they say to you, " Consult the mediums and spiritists who wisper and mutter," Should not a
people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

God clearly does not like any kind of witchcraft, Magic, sorcery, ect.
God will punish those who promote or practice any such thing.|

Jesus says in John 3:20 ,"For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light,
lest his deeds should be exposed.

1 Timothy 4:1-2
But the spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to
decietful spirits and doctrines of demons,
(2) by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in thier own concience as with a branding iron.

God's word says that sorcerers, part will be in the lake of fire.
( Revelation 21:8 )

" But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and
sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, thier part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone,
which is the second death.

(Revelation 22: 13, 14, 15)

                                                      2
" I am the Alphe and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." ( Jesus)
(14)Blessed are those who wash thier robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may
enter by the gates into the city.
(15) Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the
idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.

There has to be something inticeing about these magical movies, and books, that alot of people are
interested in them... I think , that an intrest in the "unknown", the "mysteries", the "hidden", are
people being inticed by Satan himself! Satan knows where God stands on wickedness! Satan is more
crafty than you think. He has been around for a long time, and we haven't. Satan has watched and
decieved humans since he was cast down out of heaven. He knows what people are inticed by, and he
discuises himself as and angel of light.
(2 Corinthians 11:14)

These movies and books are not for Christians!
We should be getting ready for Jesus to come, and staying in His word, not entertaining ourselves with
the mysteries of darkness!

I know that alot of the bible refrences are from the Old Testament, and we who are in Christ, are not
under the law. But God's mind does not change, He hates lying, and Satan is a liar and a murderer,
and anything that is of the darkness, that we practice or indulge in , is a lie.
If we follow Satans schemes, we are following a lie!
I hope this post can be useful to you in some way!
Draw Close to the Lord Because the days ARE EVIL!

Well Done Sister! God is awesome! I agree w/you... the tv, movies, books- that are out there... It's
nauseating and can easily draw our children in... Have you heard about the Lion, Witch and the
wardrobe? It's a parrallel of what Christ did for us - the sacrifice and how by being crucified the enemy
(represented here as the witch) thought the battle was won...and of coarse the ending is of the Lion(Jesus)
resurectiong on the 3rd day to win the war against the witch and put her to death.. It's being discussed in
many Christian arenas...Just wondering... Blessings to you! Jane ><>

Jane,
I have read about and heard about this new Holly wood movie.
I do not promote such a movie, in any way, shape, or form.
I don't think that it is a good idea to compare our Holy God, with an aligory, especially that dealing with
magic, and the spiritist things that God warns about!
People want to have thier ears tickled, with something else, other than God's holy word.
God's word is not some fantacy story, that can be displayed through images and refrences to witchcraft,
and occultic like things displayed.
People have to accept God's truth for what it is, nothing more, nothing less. I don't think that The Lion ,
the witch, and the wardrobe is, an exeption for christians to rush out and fill thier heads with all sorts of
wicked things, to rationalize that the movie and book is a picture of our Holy God, Jesus Christ!
I could never picture Jesus Christ in any other way than what the bible, has already laid out for us!God
will not be mocked!
That is my convictions, thank you for your comment Jane. Have a blessed day!

If you can see past the metaphorical references to magic, the Chronicles of Narnia were written as a
children's allegory for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the cosmological battle between Christ and Satan. It
was written by a great defender of the faith, C.S. Lewis. Even if you don't like this book or movie,
consider his other excellent books, "Mere Christianity," and "The Screwtape Letters." There are many
others but these are two that are small, easy to read and very enlightening. I have found these fare more
edifying than the typical contemporary Christian literature. Then, there's some other classic Christian

                                                      4
books of his like "The Four Loves," "The Problem of Pain," "Letters to Malcom," "Surprised by Joy," and
"The Great Divorce" among many others. He also has a series of science fiction books called the "Space
Trilogy." Sort of "Chronicles of Narnia" for adults.

Also, you missed an obvious one by not naming "The Wizard of Oz," comnplete with good heroic and
bad villainous witches as well as a magician deceiver.

I believe some of these works that portray withcraft as a possibly good thing should be discouraged
among impressionable children who have difficulty separating fact from fiction. I watched with Wizard of
Oz countless times as a youth an have never placed faith in Tarot cards, Ouija boards, witches, etc. It is
obvious, though, that many children even commit murder because they saw it on TV or in a video game,
or heard about it in a song. These children require special attention from an early age. How can we
identify them?

Great post Sabrina!!!

It makes me mad when professing Christians condone such, like in relation to the Harry Potter books by
saying that "they are encouraging children to read" (the current First Lady said such in a Christmas TV
White House tour when they showed her display of the books) or "they are only make-believe fantasy and
we had make-believe fantasies in our childhoods too."

Nick, I disagree with your opinion about C. S. Lewis and his books. Please do an Internet search and see
warnings by concerned Christians. I have seen a number of such articles.

And there were some bad stories and movies (which included witches and magic) for children in the
1950s-1960s during my childhood, but only a very small number and Halloween was even ok back then. I
did not have a Ouija game or Tarrot cards either and never used someone else's. But now there is so much
occultic things for people of all ages. In music, video games, books, stories, clothing, etc. I was told that
even the Harry Potter books had a special edition for adults and the only difference in relation to the
children's version was the cover (with fake titles).

What does Philippians 4:8 command?
"Finally, brethren [and sisteren], whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever
things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good
report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

The Old Testament has some really awesome stuff, even if we are under the new covenant. We can
notunderstand exactly how precious the precious blood of Jesus is if we do not understand old covenant
sacrifice. There is a great deal that we would be unable to know about God or our history were it not for
                                                     5
the old testament.

I am glad you mentioned horoscopes. They are like the devil's daily "Thinking of You" notes to those
who partake.

At one time, I was heavily involved in the occult. I did anything I could to feel a sense of control over an
environment that was out of control. The Lord has removed every stain from me. But the blessing which
came out of this is that I have a keen nose for satanic influences and can smell them out even in a church
or "harmless" kids book setting.

I think that one solution is to lift these issues up before the Lord and ask Him what it is that our children
are seeking in these things and ask Him what we can do to offer them those things in a Christian context.
He never fails to answer those who diligently seek Him. And His solutions are always right.

Bill, I have no doubt that C.S. Lewis has his detractors. To imply that his readers are not knowledgable
concerned Christians is a bit much. Believe what you want, but have you read Mere Christianity? Have
you read about his life? Will you condemn his works based on an internet search? What do you have
against him, specifically? Other than his use of magic as allegory in The Chronicles of Narnia? Do you
know what you are disagreeing with? Just a thought.

Sabrina, you mentioned homeschooling. This is an excellent idea, IMHO. If I had it to do over again, my
daughter would have been homeschooled. I watched the National Spelling Bee on TV some months ago
and most of the finalists were home-schooled. The individual attention by an adult who cared deeply
about the child's education and religious thought can have profound positive effects. My generation, most
commonly, were advised to keep kids relating with peers, and keep them active in multiple arena. My
daughter, for instance, took piano lessons, attended girl scouts, attended every youth activity at church,
played volleyball, basketball, softball, and soccer. Multitudes of other activities kept us moving her from
place to place each day for various activities year round. This was the prevailing wisdom of the time.
Now she's doing fine. But I think kids need adult role models present more, they could stand to be closer
to the family, and less close to the peers they are likely to find in public school. Homeschooling is
especially helpful if your child is bright. Public schools do much to hinder the advancement of bright
children while they spend great sums of money on the underachievers. No problem with tending to the
underacheivers, but the excellent students get ignored, and their potential is rarely acheived in public
schools. Homeschooling has shown to be great in the hands of devoted, intelligent parents. I recommend
it based on my experience with parents and children involved in homeschooling. God bless you.

Sabrina,
You touched a very important subject in today's times. I would like to show my humble point of view. I
agree that agnostic elements entering our lives and changing eduction in schools and values in our
society. Who's fault is that? Are we between those that do something about it? Let's start small and on the
different subject.IS anyone DOING something about gas prices? I know that we all complain, but are WE
actively trying to get to the source of a problem? I don't think so.
Well ,if we cannot do a small stuff like that, how can we stop satanic influences in the world. Most
important is the question ; are we not puting too much attention on Harry Potter while there is something
else really going on in the background? Did you ever heard about cults and meetings between heads of
governments and closed "celebrations" of idols like owl or others? How about Bohemian Grove. Do we
have any chances of fighting individually,if these people are influenced by satanic or pagan rituals? We
have to start from the bases. Todays life is organized on monetary bases. Big corporations promote (just
like in 30 year old science-fiction movies or books)well-being of every citizen. Insurance companies are
instituting well-being programs, schools are "enlightning" poor religious people how Darwin is the
answer to our questions of creation. I have not seen any other animals walking out of a jungle and
evolving. My doctor takes care of my well-being. The only connection between my employer and me is
that I work for them and they pay for it. On the list of priorities they are about maybe #55 - right in front
of duty of dragging garbage to a curb.We allow media to do what they are doing.I cannot believe where it
has come to - one atheist can take prayer out of school, but one Christian cannot put it back. How did we
ever allow for that? How do we allow a prominent University; with a great tradition of Christian
Fraternities and Sororities; to invite Muslim cleric
to say a prayer in the name of Allah! In the name of freedom? Maybe in the name of rebelious
anarchy. This country was built on God and it should stay that way.WE are looked upon by our kids when
the need comes. We have to be there for them. Who is to blame whan kids raise themselves, because both
parents have to work. It is all done in the name of a dollar. "People will pay anyhow,so let's raise the
prices to the tilt! Don't worry about kids. School will take care of them.Rapper artists will help to raise
them promoting every possible kind of sin including murder!".Morals and ethics are disappearing fast
from the society.Satan found the biggest friend-GREED!It all starts and ends in it.Tragedies are
happening in the families, wars escalate all over the globe, people have no money to pay for medicines.
How can one pill of ANYTHING cost more than it's weight in gold? Why was it 100 times cheaper 10
years ago?Something is going on and it is more than Fairy Tales and Harry Potter. It's strong and it
surrounds you. People believe in stones and amulets like pagans did. Why? Because "the search for
something" is promoted in media. Find "yourself" find "inner wealth and worth" and all kinds of other
promoted nonsense. The answer to this "search" is God!Find God inside you and chase satan away.My
Grand-Grand-Mother raised 13 kids and stayed at home as a housewife. Her husband was a train engineer
(drove a train). At the age of 50 she was still a beauty and she lived till 93.Everyone went to church every
Sunday and believed in God.There was no need for options, since God was good enough then. Now we
have to give our kids options to a "different knowledge" that proudly assumes that we came in a straight
                                                      7
line from a monkey!I actually have no problems with evolution created by God.I even agree with a "Big
Bang" theory ,because it absolutely agrees with God's creation.HE did the big bang :)We have to be less
liberal. We have to teach our kids about God and then they can choose what is good for them.God Bless.

I ran out of space:) I admire your blog Sabrina. I agree with most of you. Nick touched a few very
important subjects. C.S. Lewis is called a Knight of Christianity and I think that he has been the one.
Lewis is not too popular between Protestants and Bible Scholars ,since he was connected to Roman-
Catholic Church. Interestingly enough he has never been a member of it.
Another interesting fact is that all Catholic Churches are still the largest group of Christians. I don't like
some of their doctrines , but I would not take the importance that they play in Christianity. Many people
think that only Roman Catholic is the Catholic church. This is not a true. All Orthodox Churches ,Old
Catholic and it's fractions ,Polish,Romanian,Serbian...... Catholic and many other "national" churches are
a part of a group. Catholic is not a magic word. It just means Universal. That is what a church was on a
beginning of Christianity.
Too bad that we cannot all unite and be a great and strong church.

Sabrina, I have studied occult for many years and had a bad experiences as that ones that you described.
However I do have to admit that it is good to know your "enemy".The knowledge that I accuired helped
me to understand moments in Bible that showed temptations. I also see a lot of dangers in everyday life.
You described many of them. I would like to add Internet.
For weak people without self esteem and faith it can be extremely damaging. That is often a place for
"wolves in a sheep's skin".That is the reason for me to be here. To open some people's eyes to dangers
and help them survive.I will do everything for anyone in need to help. Our circle of friends is growing
stronger and we are provoking many of our friends to think and express themselves. God is the answer to
everything.Whan we follow him we will. When we look away from him we fall.Thank you for your great
compassion ,faith and for the way that you share your wisdom with all of us.
May God Bless You.

Sabrina, Reading all the other comments has caused a stir with in me... I think Im going to do a further
search on C.S.Lewis - pray about this and ask God for wisdom here...I admire your poise and your stand
for Christ. I hope you don't misunderstand my stand...I love Christ, more then anything in my life...I have
been through many things in my life ~ as well. My story - testimony starts when I was 6 years old...When
I first accepted Christ...Sadly, I have a great aunt who is activly a white witch - whom when I was 15 my
mother went to visit(alone & she didn't know about her religion then ) Until, my great aunt took her to a
meeting - needless to say - my mother was in a room of witches - all w/ their crystal balls etc... Not
knowing what my mother was going through - My spirit was uneasy! I felt in my spirit that my mother
was in danger...I began praying for my mom - and pleading the blood of Jesus over her...When she
returned home a few days later - the first thing I said to her was - are you hurt? are you ok? I felt like
something was wrong w/ you and was in prayer for you... She then began to tell me of all that was placed
before her that whole week...That when she was in the room w/ them - they were trying to get her into

                                                      8
thier circle - she told them ( praise God) that she was a child of God that Jesus Christ died on the cross so
that she may be saved for her sins and what they were doing was wrong. She said she never seen a room
clear so fast as when she spoke Jesus's name... God is good and faithful! Now, on a diff. note - I also have
in the same family - a great uncle & great aunt (whom when they met she was going to be a nun and he a
preist) but when they fell in love - they realized that was not meant for them and married...They however
remained Christian and deep in their faith.... many many other stories - Christ healed me when I was 7 ( I
have spina bifida) and the dr. said I would be paralized from the neck down (98%) chance of never
walking again...But you see, I believed Christ would not let anything happen to me - that he would protect
me and take care of me, because I was his child. He healed me & I walked outa the hospital 2 1/2 weeks
later w/ no help!Teams of Dr.s came in to see me-they couldnt explain it and couldn't understand - when I
was asked- I said it's simple, Im healed, its a mirical(sp) I know my Lord, I walk w/ him daily & there is
no part of my soul that doubts any part of the bible or any of Gods warnings...I've seen many things to-
things that seem impossible...As for - God, I love him and there is nothing I wouldn't do for him...Ever...
Thank you for being faithful to what the Spirit nudges you - we need to be guarded and we need to know
Gods word and live by it...While we are to Fear God - we have no reason to fear anything of this world...
Fear ~ is the scent of the devils breath upon our life...In this we are to resist, rebuke, plead the blood of
Jesus & not be tempted into anything...Peace be with you and thank you again for being faithful to
God...<><

Nick,
Why would I have to see past the metaphorical references to magic in order to learn about my Lord Jesus
Christ or watch a movie or read a book? Why is magic even in the picture?
No apostle ever refered to Jesus in the bible as a magical and mystical character. In Revelation 5:5 Jesus
is reffered as,"Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and mabey C.S. had that in mind, I'm not for sure, but what I do
know is that we can't be wishy washy, when God has explicitly says that witchcraft and magic are
detestable to Him!
One statement that you made above disturbs me. You stated ," I believe some of these works that portray
witchcraft as a possiably good thing should be discouraged among impressionable children who have
difficulty seperating fact from fiction." {QUOTE}
Firstly, all adults and especially children are impressionable. Secondly, children who have difficulty
seperating fact from fiction when they are watching a movie, or reading a book, are having that difficulty,
because the parents cannot teach every lesson of fact in an on going movie that flashes thousands of
images of excitement, and has already got the child captured in the story and the pictures , so much that
words are background noise to them. And what about the parents? Are they enjoying the movie so much
that they dare not inturupt the family movie to seperate fact from fiction? And even so,your child has
already visualized the portrayal of Jesus and satan, by whatever that movie or book, has demonstrated. Do
we turn God's truth into an aligory of witchcraft, mysticism, magic, ect?
C.S. may have converted back to christianity, and may have written books about the faith and walk in
Christ, after the fact that he turned from his intrests in Norse mythology, only to write a book that was
based off of characters from Norse mythology.
I have read the Screwtape Letters. My opinion is, that christians have made famous these christians whos
pourpose was to teach the truth about Jesus, only to turn them into idols. And some christians even defend
and excuse behaviors that are sinful more than they defend God's truth!
(Romans Ch.3:5-6)
But if our unrightousness demonstrates the rightousness of God, what shall we say? The God who inflicts
wrath is not unrightous is He?( I am speaking in human terms.)
(6) May it never be! For otherwise how will God judge the world?
Yes, how will God judge those who practice witchcraft, magic, sorcery, ect? If we say that its good? Or
                                                     9
useful? Or mabey even rightous? We are one with Christ.May we never call evil good, or good evil.
I would like to point out one more thing. among others I would like to, " that children and adults who are
unbelievers, have no clue what this movie or book might portay, it it just another movie or book, that is
about magic.
Even if they do know what it portrays, is the storyline a good portrayal of the gospel of Jesus Christ?

My son is very smart, he is reading on a 5th grade level, and is only in the third grade. He is in a program
called,"Visions" for gifted children. He is also in our church activities for kids called, Awana. I am
terrified of the thought of being his school teacher. Please pray that God will strengthen me. The school
systems today act like they own your children! They are appaled at the slightest indication that you may
disagree with thier methods. I am forever having phone conversations, letters, and meetings with the
teachers about the junk that they sometimes try to feed my child.
Harry Potter book readings, PG rated movies on fun days. No Christ centered songs/ song at Christmas
plays, but songs on Kwananza, Santa Clause, Ect. You name it.
But thank you for your encouragments, and your comments!

Bill:
That was a great verse you wrote, so true, and a call to obedience!
Thank you for your comment, I agree.
Recovery Woman:I'm so glad that you came out of that lifestyle of the occult. Yes, the Old Testament is
Great! I used to think it was boring, especially Numbers, but now that I am older, I have come to a great
appriciation, of it, and I am excited when I read the Old Testament.Your also right about,Knowing what is
in the O. T. brings a greater appriciation to the sacrifice of Jesus.Thank you!
Chris:
Thank you for the time that you put into your comments.
Yes I have watched documentarys on Government cults, one of them being the National Alliance, among
many others. There is always an agenda behind everything. When Jesus comes , all of these things which
are whispered will be shouted on the roof tops, and everything that is done in secret will be revealed. We
cannot stop evil from spreading. All we as Christians are to do, is to obey God, and seperate ourselves
from the world, oh and don't forget, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.(which is obedience). No we
cant stop satanic influences, unless we are ordained by God in the name of Jesus to do so.( Casting out
demons). We have to resist the devil and he will flee from us, if the satanic influences are trying to harm
us.
I hear you with all the " Inner self" talk. I see it every day. The world wants us to be our own gods and fill
the flesh, the heart and the mind with the things of the world. But we are called away from the world. And
not to be of it.
When the people in the world are following, and clinging to a teaching or a fad, ( for lack of better terms),
                                                     10
then it must be popular enough for christians to stay away from it.But why are christians clinging to these
things also?! It should not be so! The world will hate us for being like Christ Jesus, in many instances, the
world loves its own.( I'm speaking in code)
Luke (
6:26)" Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for in the same way thier fathers used to treat the
false prophets."
I can think of so many " Preachers" that everyone loves, and I mean everyone!
Beware.
I could write all night, but I have to take a break.I will finish responding tomorrow, Thank you Chris, and
thank you all.

I am from a part of the world where witchcraft is rife and it is a real issue in our movie industry. sadly,
christians expose themselves to all of this in direct disobidience to the COMMANDMENT in philipians
4:8. 'whatsoever is true......

To let you know Jes, there's no such thing as a white witch (all witchcraft is the work of darkness).

Thank you Sabrina for stirring this up.

I think Chris raised some very important issues. Even though I have read none of C.S Lewis' works I
disagree with Nick's encouragement to read books using occultic allegory to describe the person of God.
Yes we may find a crust of bread in a garbage can but why should we go through an entire garbage can

Jane,
I'm glad that your are going to do the further research on C.S.Lewis, that is a wise thing to do. I didn't
misunderstand you at all. You just asked what I thought, and sometimes I may sound harsh, but I feel so
strongly about some of these kinds of issues, so it could come across that way. Thank you for your little
testimony. God does work in mysterious ways, and with Him, ALL things are possiable. I am glad that
your mother was not harmed in any way during her experience with the witches.
And yes, Jesus name is very powerful, when it is used by a true child of God.Thank you for trusting in the

Wole,
Yes, I have learned more from the comments too.
I understand that where you come from, is saturated with Whitchcraft, I read a book a few months ago
that was almost 2,000 pages long, about the Roots and history of Africa and slavery.I was astounded by
what I had learned, even about African religions and voodoo practices.I even learned how those occultic
practices were introduced into american culture, and mixed into some forms of supposed christianity, very
interesting!
I agree that all witchcraft is dark and demonic, and I whole heartedly agree that you shouldn't dig through
a trash can for a crumb, but go to the bakery insead( bible) Good one!
THank tou, and have a Great day!

This comment is for Mole ~ I agree with you - In stating that she is a white witch - that is what she called
herself to sweeten the evil...I know - that a witch is a witch & all are evil and not of God...
Sabrina ~ I love the fact that, through you & your deep passion for God/Christ, you are putting issues like
these in the for front of conversations...God is using you to get his childrens attention! There is so much
in our world that diverts our attention from God ~ and as in an above comment~ desensitises (sp) us and
our children...If we as Gods children arnt being feed and taught properly then it will be easy to fall into
the traps and snares set before us... And it takes someone like you, someone w/ the knowledge and
commitment (God is laying this on your heart) to help and verbalize these warnings to fellow Christians
& those who might be dabbeling, or curious about other things...I say thank you! And may God bless you
for bringing this issue in the open...I would love to discuss this topic with other Christian - like a
crusade...Because, Im not sure as a whole ~ that christians understand the seriousness of this...However, I
believe it's somthing we are to be aware of, heed it, stay away from these things, know how to protect
ourselves - but not be anxious or afraid of it...Because we are Christians, Children of God -Therefore it
has no power over us! Thank you Sister! Its hard to write and get all your thoughts and feelings out- I cant
write fast enough ! LOL... Blessings to you! Jane <><

Jane,
LOL, I know, I write so fast, that I'm always mispelling words like if you noticed when in my post, I

Anyways, thank you for your compliments, although, I would like all the Glory to go to Jesus, and I have
                                                    12
praised him for the comments, and the ability to stand for the truth.
Yes, There is alot of distractions in this world that can lead us astray, we have all been there, and
everyday, we fall into Satans snares. We are not ignorant of his devices, yet we stop paying attention in
our walk with Christ, and we stumble right into another trap.
Jesus and the apostles so encourage us, to take heed lest we fall. We should not take heed when we feel
like it, but always try to be aware of our surroundings, and be in the word of God daily.
If we are having difficulty in this, we should call on the Lord Jesus for His strenght and wisdom.
In Proverbs, is a treasure chest of wisdom.
Most of Proverbs, encourages us to seek the Lord and aquire wisdom!( Proverbs 2:1-22)and
understanding!
Another good verse, ( which they are all good) is Prov. 3:7-8) Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the
LORD and turn away from evil.
(8) It will be healing to your body, And refreshment to your bones.!
Thank You again Jane for your kind words, and encouragment to keep on keeping on in the faith!

Excellent blog and great comments too!

I too have seen an increase of occultic activity everywhere. Here in Buenos Aires, the HP craze has
caught both kids and grown ups. I bought the first book out of curiosity (I wasn't a Christian then) and
became addicted immediately. I can tell you there is some "charm" in these books. When you reach the
fourth in the series it's already very disturbing. Some things in the plot are too strong for a child (even for
an adult). Shortly after finishing the fifth book I got strong conviction of sin (I'd been attending church for
a few months) and destroyed the books.
In my country, bookstores are full of new age or Da Vinci Code type of books in the most prominent
places, most of the local music is very dark in tone with vulgar references to sex, violence, crime, very
pessimistic remarks and some mystical themes too. I've seen several teens (and older people) walking
around with inverted crosses, 5 point stars, with tatoos of serpents and dragons. It freaks me out. Open
any magazine and you'll see a charm for attracting good luck. And my country, being a Catholic country,
has seen lots of "popular saints" being worshipped (some of such "saints" were criminals). Many people
consult astrologers or have a tarot reading after Mass. The statues of Catholic saints are placed next to the
voodoo statues in the "santerías".

My government also has a long history of involvement in the occult. Many of my presidents were
freemasons or rosacrucians, most of the politicians consult astrologers, even those who claim to be
Catholics.

I agree with you, these things are never innocent. The devil is behind each.

What can we do? Not much, except pray and protect those in our direct sphere of influence, as much as
possible. Many times people will call us fanatics for having such a clear position against evil. Let us not
compromise with the world. Yes, our children may have to suffer some degree of rejection and even
persecution if they go to public schools and don't participate in certain conversations or activities. Kids
may call them freaks. Believe me, if homeschooling was legal in my country I would certainly not send
my future kids to school. I don't look forward to being a mother because I worry what kind of world will I
be raising my children in? Certainly the best thing you can do as a mum is stay at home and watch their
growth very closely.

I do know that your country has a predominant, belief in the Catholic faith, and that the virgin mary is

It is amazing how wide spread these things are.
I agree with you , on being afraid to raise kids these days. I am afraid for my children every day too. Your
concerns are very realistic. Lets stay stong in the faith so that we may not turn aside to these fables fit for

Sabrina, this is a timely post and thanks to Jes I came accross it. I have struggled with this decision with
my own children concerning "harmless" witchcraft and the like in the shows they watch. This world is
conditioning us to EVIL! This is just the start of many topics we could discuss under the conditioning
heading. THank you so much for your bravery to post this contraversial topic. I have contemplated it over
the past week and honestly figured this would happen (the obvious disagreement) and I was fearful.
Praise GOD that you were not because I have my answer and I know now that I am not alone. I know that
God is leading other CHristians that want to STAND for the Lord in the same direction. "Avoid EVEN
the APPEARANCE" of evil" as the Bible says! By the way, please be in prayer for me as well and I you!

Dear Special K,
Thank you for your comment.I am glad that this topic has "hit home" with many.It is a struggle to find
something for our children to watch these days. I always think about the older days, where the children
were occupied with other things, because there was no TV to watch. Why should it be diffrent for our
children? Do we think that we are depriving them, by not allowing them to watch TV? I have felt guilty at
times for not letting my children participate in worldly entertainment, but the thoughts of guilt were
fleeting. They have to be! Cartoons are another topic I might write about, because even alot of them are

                                                      14
evil, and I do not allow my children to watch most of them. I hope that you will be brave and take a stand
for the cause of Jesus, and the calling that you have in Him. these are very important issues, and I think
everyone has testified to that. Thankfully, I am not the only one who feels the same!

Thank you for reading my post, and I am praying for all, Have a great day in the Lord!

I actually stumbled on your blog today and yes it intrigued me enough to actually go back to your 1st
posting and read through it all !!
I really think you have some serious issues going on here. maybe some things in your past that you have
never laid to rest. You talk like everything we see and do is related to EVIL !!And if its not your way of
teaching then we are tainted with SATAN. No one is free from Sin remember that. GOD IS FORGIVING
WE ARE ALL HIS CHILDREN

                                                     15
I am not mocking your Faith far be it from me to say how a person lives thier life.I was born and raised a
Catholic brough my 3 children up in the catholic faith.yet gave my children the freedom to read and
absorb and make choices that they were accountable for. I taught them the difference between right and
wrong and i was blessed with 3 children who never took drugs or brought trouble to my door, i am also
blessed with 4 grandchildren . We cannot live our children’s lives for them. Yes we can pave the way for
them yet you give your children no life as I see it. What book’s are you letting them read ? besides the
bible you are preaching ? What is happening here is YOU ARE NOT TRUSTING YOUR CHILDREN
ENOUGH TO MAKE CHOICES FOR THEMSELVES !! You vet every Video before letting them watch
it why bother buying them, how can they follow a film if parts of it they cant watch ? Do you think they
are so weak willed they will Succomb to some EVIL FORCE ? Even you yourself say that within your
family they are rifts now over what the children can and cannot do. Indirectly you are making choices for
them it is YOUR WAY or NO WAY. What is that teaching a child ? To fear his parents ? No parent no
matter how good the intentions are can wrap a child in cotton wool and protect them. it’s a big bad world
out there all we can do is help them along the way and hopefully at the end of it we rear fine Adults !!
You freely admit the wrong doings of your youth by all accounts you broke every Commandment God
made. You have found yourself now and I am happy for you really I am. But please don’t warp your
children’s minds to Sin’s you yourself committeed and have been forgiven for !! Your children might be
made of a stronger mould, cotton wool wont protect them., You might ask why I posted this comment
well as I see it it is open to comments ! Please feel free to delete this comment if you so wish !!. And yes i
am quite sure you would never click on my blog.. I take every day issues and turn them into humorous
postings. My belief in life is to share laughter no matter what kind of bad day you are having .

Stay safe……….

Dear Fun Girl UK 2000,
Thank You for your comment. Comments are welcome here as long as they are not perverted, or use foul
language. They otherwise will not be removed.
My past has been laid to rest, on the cross that Jesus died on for me, and my serious issues are the sins I
will commit in the future.
We are sinful human beings, and even our rightousness is of filthy rags. ( Isaiah 64:6)
Alot of things that I see and do are evil. We live in Evil times.
Its not my way of teaching, its the bibles way of teaching, that I am trying to diplay on my blog. It is
anyones choice, if they want to read my blog, or not read it, but everyone is welcome if they please, and
to check scripture that I write down for themselves, to read what God's word has to say about the topics
and issues, that I put down. Most of what I put down is my own convictions, and may not be yours, so
there is always going to be disagreement of opinions, unless we search the scriptures , to see what God's
word has to say about our dealings with the world.
I said no such thing, that you are all tainted with Satan, if you don't follow my " Teachings"
I remember that no- one is free from sin, unless we are dead to the flesh, and alive to God, hidden in
Christ Jesus, until the day of redemption.
If you have a bible would you turn to Romans Ch.6, 7, and 8 ? This is what I believe about the flesh and
sin.
God is gracious and forgiving, but not all people are His children. Some people choose to serve Evil, and
the lies of Satan, therefore, they who (practice) sin, and do not turn and repent from thier evil deeds, those
who do not accept Jesus Christ as thier personal Savior,to have Lord over their life; will be judged
according to thier evil deeds, and cast into the lake of fire, for eternity.
I will give scripture refrences at the bottom of this comment.
I try to live my life in obedience, according to what God's word says.
                                                     16
What you let your children participate in or " absorb" is none of my buisness, you will be accountable for
that in the day of judgement.
What you tought your children about right and wrong, may have been in your own estimation, and not
God's, I don't know, but you cannot contridict what God's word says is right, and what you say is right.
The same goes for what you think is wrong, and what God's word says is wrong.
I do not live my childrens life for them, because I am my own person and soul.
Yes, God paves the way for me, and in return, I try to pave the way for my children, according to the
Holy Bible.
( I do make mistakes) although, you have only read a blog with very few details of my 28 years of life,
and you bareley know anything about my children, so how would you know that it sounds like my
children have no life?
They are both alive and well behaved children, they are both very smart, always smileing, and having a
good time, even reading God's word can be an enjoyment!
My children are very special to me , and I love them, and I take care of them every day, you are
condeming me for something you have never known.
My son is almost on a 5th grade reading level, and he's only in the 3rd grade, he reads other books besides
the bible, and he loves the book called "Pilgrems Progress".
My 3 yaer old has known her ABC's for a year now, and now I am teaching her sign language, she is also
very bright.
I am a blessed mother, and I thank God for that!
I don't buy vidios, sometimes we rent them from the library, for free, and most of them are
documentaries, sometimes that is all there is thats " wholesome" to watch, in My husband and my
convictions.
Evil forces are every where! ( Ephesians 6:12)
And in our home, if the children do not obey and honor we as their mother and father, they in return will
suffer consiquences, and will be punished. God punishes disobedience, and so do we, and we are
responsiable to do so, not you.
Children will not learn to fear the Lord when they are older, if they do not learn from us.

If we are to help our children along the way...then we should guide them with the word of God, and
helping them dosn't mean purchasing evil things for children to indulge in, and then think that is the right
guidence.
I am praying that my children turn out to be God fearing Adults, not hopeing that they will turn out "fine".

I have broken every commandment of God! Even by breaking one, I am guilty of ALL! My children will
also do the same, because every human being is a sinner, But I am sealed by the blood of Jesus Christ, my
Lord, He came to take away the sins of the world, and I have turned and repented of my sins, and now I
am trying to obey the word that God commands believers to obey God. Some times I do a miserable job
at it, and I sin again and again, and will until I die; But I ask for forgiveness, and I start over again, to still
obey God, even though I have failed ( same goes for my children).
I am washed by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, not by myself can I be justified, but only by Him.
It is only by your opinion that I warp my childrens minds, It is not a fact and you can't prove it.
Yes I did click on your blog, and your idea of humor, and my idea of humor is way diffrent, and if
someone posted that type of humor on my blog, I would delete thier comment, because I do not promote,
or enjoy , talking about sexual body parts, and such " humor" that you have claimed it to be!
I am in no way having a bad day, and thank you for your comment.Any more questions? Feel free to
ask,If you may not get the answers that your looking for, I'm sorry.

Nick, I did not condemn C. S. Lewis or his books. I have never condemned anyone even in thought. Nor
do I pray against people. But I know that I don't need to do any more reading outside the Bible. I am very
choosy about books I take to read in the doctors' offices and on trips.

This blog and the comments show how successful the spiritual enemy has been, but there is a small
remnant of Christians who are doing intercessory prayer and warning others against such. True
Christianity or agape love is not tolerant of unrighteousness no matter how popular it has become. God
wants the best for His adopted children and that is righteousness and unselfishness. The prideful spiritual
enemies hate such.

In regards to protection of children and humor, I agree with Sabrina on the former and the latter should be
very minimal and not at others' expense (in other words clean and not slanderous). We need to warn
others now because it seems like we are at the end of the Age of Grace. I follow the news because of my
intercessory prayer ministry, but most Christians and others are tending to ignore the news. Sign up for
the Moriel report http://www.moriel.org/ and you will get a daily collection of happenings that are very
serious matters. I believe that many tragedies are soon to happen in the Middle East, USA, Africa, and
Asia. How many are ready? Who will stand up for God the Father, the Gospel, and Jesus Christ, even if it
means that they will be executed.
