                                 RESOLUTION NO 2009-29

       A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
       OF TARPONS SPRINGS OPPOSING THE IMPOSWON OF FEES BY
       TB[E BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PINELLAS COUNTY
       FOR THE USE AND ENJOYMENT OF FRED HOWARD PARK AND
       PROVIDING FOR AN EPPEClWE DATE.

       WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County is considering

imposing fees for the use of Fred Howard Park; and

       WHEREAS, Fred Howard Park was originally donated to Pinellas County by the City of

Tarpon Springs for use as a p a . and

       WHEREAS, Fred Howard Park is located in the City of Tarpon Springs and is widely

used and enjoyed by residents of the City; and

       WHEREAS, Fred Howard park is one of the few beaches readily accessible to residents

of North Pinellas County; and

       WHEREAS, imposing fees on the use of Fred Howard Park would adversely impact and

greatly limit the accessibility of Fred Howard Park to residents of Tarpon Springs and North

Pinellas County,

       NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

OF THE CITY OF TARPON SPRINGS, FLORIDA:

       Section 1.     The Board of Cornmissioners of the City of T r o Springs strongly
                                                                  apn

opposes the imposition of any fees by the Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County

for the use and enjoyment of Fred Howard Park.

       Section 2.     This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage

and adoption.
