                                 Wednesday 9th March 2011

1. Attendees & Apologies

Attendees: Viv McCotter, Bridget West, David Tomlinson, Clare Grady, Dale Nicholas, Gilly Cook,
Theresa Russell, Julie Nankivell, Nikki Shelton, Suzanne Sales, Kerrie Burns, Sarah Makstutis,
Emma Goldsmith, Helen Cross, Claire Holdcroft, Maria Thomson, Jackie Skippings, Hester Kitson,
Stef Newell-Price, Liz Stuart, Chris Warren, Sally Robinson, Jo Andrews, Blanche Preece

2. Minutes from last meeting & matters arising

Outstanding: Comms/Website Meeting re FOG website & Facebook – meeting arranged for
next Tues with Kate & Nic Price, Tereasa, Julia & Paul Hamilton, Bridget, Hester & Maria – will
report back at the next meeting.

Fruit & Veg: need someone to take over from Angela – no one has come forward. Jackie will
consider it.

Tina & some other mothers would like to join forces with FOG to do a cake sale at the end of
term to raise money for the marathon

Minutes agreed.

3. Voting in of new committee members

Chair & Deputy still vacant

Viv McCotter & Bridget West nominated for Co Chairs – seconded and appointed.

Emma Goldsmith nominated for Deputy Chair – seconded and appointed.

4. Financial Position and Recent Events
At the time of the meeting there was just under £2,000 available for funding.
David Tomlinson has spoken to Hope and will make sure all invoices come in to FOG.

5. Requests for funding

Year 1 requested £173 to cover shortfall in coach money for trip to Museum of Childhood.
Action/Conclusion: to come off coach budget.

Year 6 requested £200 for their end of year production to buy rights for script to "My School
Musical" and to help put on the show e.g. costumes, printing etc. Action/Conclusion: agreed

Teresa Russell requested £1374 for Year 1 resources. Action/Conclusion: £1,174 agreed for now
Ingrid in the library requested £60 for roladex & labels for new membership cards for KS2.
Action/Conclusion: agreed

Claire Grady/Helen Cross requested £200 to do up pond area. Action/Conclusion: agreed

Annette Rose-Warren requested £200 for t-shirts for the play supporters at break time so they
can be recognised in the playground. Action/Conclusion: agreed.

Dale Nicholas - £400 for a bursary fund for the school council to use for small purchases e.g. if
they want a new basketball hoop etc. Action/Conclusion: £100 agreed for now and Dale to
come back to us when he needs more.

Total allocated: £1934


6. Forthcoming Events:


Quiz Night: Friday 25th March – tickets on sale next week. Price agreed at £9 instead of £8.

Jumble Sale: Saturday 2nd April – volunteers needed. Also someone to take over from Jackie &
Emma, who have done a brilliant job, next time? Garden morning same day. Theresa Russell
asked if any PE kit could be put aside for kids in Year 1 who don’t bring their own PE kit to
school.

New Parents coffee morning/Marathon Fundraiser: date TBC – Bridget doing welcome
newsletter.

Goodrich Fun Run & Training: 22nd May Fun Run. Training starting Sunday 27th March.

Easter Cake Sale: Thursday 7th April agreed

Pampering Night: Maria suggested this idea for an adult event. Action: Need to look into

Eyebrow Lady starting up again on Tuesdays after school.


7. Class Reps

17 out of 26 classes now have volunteers for a class rep. Meeting to be held Friday 18th March


8. AOB

Julie Nankivell asked if we could do a street party for the kids for the Royal Wedding – it was
decided this should be a class thing, not FOG – could maybe organised through class reps??

A big thank you was said to Kerrie for all her hard work looking into the ice skating idea,
although this did not go ahead in the end, it was agreed that we could look into it for next year
Jan/Feb and maybe join forces with another school.
Kerrie asked if anyone has any ideas for a Kids event to let her know.

It was also noted by Viv that the FOG email list was not to be used to advertise for Nannies etc.

Sally suggested the office selling laundry pens to parents to help cut down the amount of
unnamed lost property.


9. Date of next meeting: date to be confirmed, third week after Easter hols?
