Now that’s starting something. 4 Process technology is a growing field with an active epicenter at CMC’s Roaring Fork campus. The Setting The Rocky Mountains, CO At the Center of the Industry The 13-acre West Garfield campus provides students with state-of-the-art computer and science laboratories, all located on the edge of an industry hot spot in Rifle, Colorado. The instructional programs in Rifle have changed and grown to meet the demands of the economy and an influx of new residents. The campus has partnered with local industries to offer specialized workforce training. At this perfectly situated campus, you’ll have the opportunity to receive hands-on training through state-of-the art simulators, and get down and dirty with field trips to gas plants, water treatment plants and fieldwork. This will give you a head start, because you’ll enter the field with an established knowledge of the tools, equipment and information you’ll use every day in your profession. Industrial Instrumentation Control Technician 4 Process Technology Process technology depends on a number of pneumatic, digital and mechanical devices and systems to function efficiently and correctly. This certificate program will prepare you to sit in the driver’s seat of many of the industries most up-to-date systems. It will also give you a leg up with knowledge of safety requirements, working conditions and job opportunities. Learn the ins and outs of process technology with hangs-on training in the field. A strong academic core, including physics and chemistry, will prepare you for the future. Process industries are predicting a large turnover of process technicians in the coming years. Process technology involves every aspect of chemical processing. You will be extracting and refining raw materials, such as oil and gas, beverage ingredients and water. You’ll also separate or mix these elements, carefully monitoring the process that makes it happen. While the processes are complex and mostly controlled by computers, process technicians must be able to work in teams, react rapidly and handle stressful situations to keep everything running smoothly. As a technician, you’ll be a key member of the team responsible for planning, analyzing and controlling production from start to finish. Special instrumentation, pumps, turbines and compressors are designed to monitor and separate the materials that make up countless products we use every day. The program is based on the industry-standard Center for the Advancement of Process Technology curriculum, and will give you valuable knowledge and real world experience in one of the nation’s most essential industries. 4 4 Occupational Safety and Health Petroleum Technology Knowledgeable instructors provide the academic foundation you’ll need for success in the field. If you want to specialize in the oil and gas industry, this certificate program will put you on the right track. You’ll become an in-demand part of this rapidly growing field, with specialized coursework in oil drilling, gathering and field operations. As an occupational safety and health technician, you’ll be responsible for making sure employees are kept safe in a variety of industries. Your duties could include writing safety plans, providing consultation on accident investigations, hazard analysis and creating fire protection strategies. You’ll be in demand for careers in the oil and gas industry, the government, manufacturing and construction.
