Industrial Instrumentation Control Technician 4 Process Technology Process technology depends on a number of pneumatic, digital and mechanical devices and systems to function efficiently and correctly. Process technology involves every aspect of chemical processing. You will be extracting and refining raw materials, such as oil and gas, beverage ingredients and water. You’ll also separate or mix these elements, carefully monitoring the process that makes it happen. While the processes are complex and mostly controlled by computers, process technicians must be able to work in teams, react rapidly and handle stressful situations to keep everything running smoothly. As a technician, you’ll be a key member of the team responsible for planning, analyzing and controlling production from start to finish. Special instrumentation, pumps, turbines and compressors are designed to monitor and separate the materials that make up countless products we use every day. The program is based on the industry-standard Center for the Advancement of Process Technology curriculum, and will give you valuable knowledge and real world experience in one of the nation’s most essential industries. 4 4 Occupational Safety and Health Petroleum Technology Knowledgeable instructors provide the academic foundation you’ll need for success in the field. If you want to specialize in the oil and gas industry, this certificate program will put you on the right track. As an occupational safety and health technician, you’ll be responsible for making sure employees are kept safe in a variety of industries.
