Personal Essay:
The personal essay should help the Selection Committee learn more about your background, professional
experience, and leadership qualities. Your essay should address the following questions:

       Elaborate on your strengths as they may relate to ICFP’s 2010-12 theme Social Innovation for
        Sustainable Environment. Please specify how your professional endeavors address institutional
        drivers of change in the environment (please see Program Description).
       Please describe any collaborative work you have engaged in internationally and/or across disciplines.
        What challenges did you encounter, how were they resolved, and what are the lessons learned?
       How might the cross-disciplinary, transnational, and collaborative format of the ICFP deepen the
        work in which you are currently engaged, or in a future project you are planning?
       Please elaborate on your teaching experience as it relates to Social Innovation for Sustainable
        Environment. Please indicate whether you might consider co-teaching or co-designing a course with
        a faculty member at The New School during the second year of the fellowship program.

Your personal essay should be between 5 to 7 typewritten pages in length, printed on 8.5” x 11” paper or on
A4 paper with Times New Roman 11-point font type, double-spaced, with 1” top and bottom margins, 1.25”
left and right, and paginated. Your name should appear on the upper right-hand corner of each page.

If selected as a fellow of the India China Institute, I agree:
