The Certificate I in Hospitality is designed to develop both skills that are essential for
employment and skills that relate directly to a work activity. The units chosen must provide
practical skills that are relevant and useful to the area in which the person hopes to gain
employment or is currently working. The group of units should be chosen to support the
project and should incorporate both the technical and employability skills needed for work.
Completion of a Certificate I in Hospitality should provide the student with a set of
competencies that collectively open up pathways into employment and/or further study.
