                        Philosophy Statement
                                      I believe:

Ambition, creativity, and passion are the most important tools to have as a designer.

It is important to love your career with your whole heart in order to be successful and
                                            happy.

Apparel design is a story that is used to express not only the designer as a person but
                                       also the wearer.

The ability to lead and communicate are essential skills when working in a team
                                      environment.

Expanding my skills as an apparel designer and my knowledge of the apparel industry.

The dress was large in the
                        upper back and the side
seams were off by ½ inch. To
                     fix this we decreased pattern
by one inch at center back on
                        the back lace bib pattern
piece. To fix the side seams
                     we reduced both front bodice
and back bodice by ¼ inch.

While interning at The Wedding Shoppe, I was able to understand who the
Wedding Shoppe customer is & how designs are modified to meet their
needs, press and check new gowns when they first arrive at the store, and
gain hands-on experience creating different types of wedding jewelry. I was
able to participate in fit sessions by learning the techniques for pinning and
fitting a dress during a fitting. I also gained experience with different hand
beading techniques and alteration techniques common in the bridal industry.
