For over 80 years Swiss Youth Hostels have been the first port of call for
budget conscious travellers. Not surprisingly as they're often housed in
idyllic historic buildings e.g. castles, former factory buildings and historic
villas. A total of 52 homes offer a tailor-made infrastructure for the young,
young at heart and families. For decades Swiss Youth Hostels have been
offering individual travellers, families and groups a basic to spectacular roof over their heads in a personal
atmosphere. And the opportunity to make new contacts within a special setting. However, the "old" Youth
Hostel no longer exists: today, the range extends from the romantic castle hostel, to the stylish abode in a
superb villa, to the ideally located, stylistic youth palace. Three different categories ("simple ", "classic"
and "top") meet the varying needs for comfort of the guests who all expect a special roof over their heads
but don't want the same infrastructure. As very child and parentfriendly locations for a place to relax,
Youth Hostels for families normally offer a lot of grounds, generous lounge areas and all manner of play
opportunities. They're always ideally located with opportunities for numerous excursions and offer far
more than the obligatory family room.

Top in every senseThe 12 "Top Destination" Youth Hostels, e.g. in Interlaken, Basel, Zürich, Zermatt and
St. Moritz, are the first port of call for all those who like being near the post bus departure point. They are
centrally located, easily accessible and open. The Youth Hostels not only provide a lasting holiday
experience but for years have been committed to sustainable tourism. All buildings are e.g. EU
Environment and Steinbock Label certificated.Guests can offset their journeys and overnight
accommodation through the climate protection organisation myClimate.
