BASIC FUNCTION:

   To administer and coach the men’s and women’s varsity cheerleading program.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

   Administer and coach the varsity cheerleading program within the University, Mid-American Conference, and
   National Collegiate Athletics Association policies, guidelines, and regulations.

   Oversee program budget.

   Coordinate scheduling and game administration.

   Recruit student athletes.

   Monitor the academic eligibility of athletes.

   Develop, enforce, and document a team discipline code.

   Recommend annual team and individual awards.

   Enforce training room and equipment room policy relative to practice clearance and issue and return of equipment
   and supplies.

   Assist sports information office in gathering team information for media dissemination.

   Perform related duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO:

   Associate Athletic Director

LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISION:

   May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of support staff or other employees who work on a
   project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Experience:

         Associate’s degree in relevant field; three months to one year experience coaching cheerleading.

    Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

         Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletics Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations.

         Skill in training or instructing student athletes; interpersonal communication.

         Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours.
