Director of Outreach (DO) Job Description About FRCS: The Foxborough Regional Charter School (FRCS) is a K-12, college preparatory, public school located in Foxborough, Massachusetts. FRCS seeks to provide students an academically rigorous and integrated K-12 program that prepares students for college in a challenging and stimulating learning environment that instills positive ethical, moral and civil values and prepares students to serve their community as leaders and exemplary citizens. The school currently enrolls 1,100 students from 23 neighboring communities, including Attleboro, Avon, Brockton, Canton, Easton, Foxborough, Mansfield, Medfield, Medway, Millis, Norfolk, North Attleboro, Norton, Norwood, Plainville, Randolph, Raynham, Sharon, Stoughton, Taunton, Walpole, West Bridgewater, and Wrentham. Position Overview: FRCS’ recent reorganization has resulted in the creation of a new leadership position: the Director of Outreach (DO). Reporting directly to the Executive Director, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the DO’s role is to manage and support the school’s external relationships and to increase financial support for the school and its program in order to allow FRCS to continue to grow and fulfill its mission. The DO is entrusted to manage the following functions: state reporting, recruitment, enrollment, communication, marketing, fundraising, and public relations. Specific Responsibilities: External Relations and Fundraising • Manage and oversee FRCS’ recruitment and enrollment processes to meet annual enrollment targets o Oversee development of print and electronic marketing materials and processes o Manage open houses, tours, and other interactions with prospective parents and students o Collaborate with the Director of Students and Families to: understand fully and inform the program offerings and supports available to students and families analyze enrollment and transfer/termination trends to inform future recruitment • Manage the FRCS’ public relations and marketing campaigns o Oversee development of a marketing strategy and the production of marketing materials o Establish and maintain relationships with media outlets to promote FRCS through story placements • Manage and oversee FRCS’ fundraising program ensuring that FRCS meets its annual revenue targets o Working with the Executive Director establish annual revenue goals o Secure funding and in-kind support from foundations, corporations, and private donors

Manage relationships with current and prospective donors including the preparation of all interim and final reports o Manage the annual reporting process to the DESE Collaborate with the FRCS Leadership Team to create a powerful vision for the next ten years of the school’s development o
Resource Allocation • Develop and implement a mission-driven, equitable, and transparent process for the allocation of the Division’s resources • Collaborate with the Leadership Team on a mission-driven, transparent, and equitable process for the allocation of resources across the school’s core Divisions (Teaching and Learning, Students and Families, Finance & Administration, and Outreach) • Revise and create K-12 policies and procedures to support effective day-to-day operation of Division’s work. Personnel Management • Hire and manage the Division’s staff • Develop and implement a supervision, mentoring, and evaluation process for the Division’s staff Qualifications: • • • • • • • • • • Excellent writer who can present a compelling case for support of FRCS to families, funders, the media, the DESE, and the general public Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to expand and maintain long-term and supportive relationships with all external parties A track record of successful fundraising from a variety of sources A thoughtful partner who can understand the needs of programmatic staff and translate those needs into fundraising and promotional opportunities A collaborator who can develop a sense of community and cooperative spirit throughout the school Excellent project management and decision making skills to maximize the coordination and effectiveness of the Division’s diverse responsibilities Excellent personnel manager with the ability to develop staff by offering constructive feedback through regular meetings and formal evaluations and to provide appropriate professional development Ability to handle pressure while maintaining a sense of humor 7+ years of fundraising, marketing, and public relations experience, preferably in a school or education-based nonprofit Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
