This course examines current research, theory, and management approaches to recreation management in a wilderness setting. Students will explore current literature focusing on how to manage for quality visitor experiences in wilderness. Students will understand how to apply current research and theory examining visitor use, visitor experiences, measuring and monitoring biophysical and social impacts, wilderness ed and interpretation, search and rescue protocol, and law enforcement.
