Beginning your career as an SAIC art student can present some unique challenges. We want you to be prepared to meet
these challenges. Come and learn more about maintaining your sexual health and wellness.

Making the transition to living in the city can be challenging for many new students. Come learn tips on staying safe while
you are out and about in Chicago. Even if you are already savvy on city life, the Chicago Police Department will aim to
enhance your existing safety skills.

Being an artist at SAIC can challenge you mentally and physically. Come and learn more about maintaining your overall
health and wellness and tips on being safe with your art practices.

2:00pm – 5:30pm                  Getting to Know Chicago: Photo Crawl
                                 Start at Ballroom, MacLean Center, SAIC
Orientation Groups will work together to earn points as they explore the SAIC campus and the city of Chicago. The group
with the most points by the end of the evening will win a fabulous prize! This is a great way to learn to utilize campus and
the city as a resource.

7:00pm                           Chicago Outdoor Film Festival in Grant Park – “Grease”
                                 Depart from Lobby of 162 North State Street or Chicago Building Lobby
Grab a blanket, take a snack and spend Tuesday night watching this classic movie under the stars in Grant Park! The movie
starts at 8:03pm, so be sure to claim your spot in the park early.

12:30pm – 4:00pm                 Day Trips
                                 All trips will leave from the Ballroom, MacLean Center promptly at 12:30 PM.
With Orientation Leaders as your guides, you will be able to choose from a wide variety of day trips. Some students may
choose to check out another Chicago museum, while others may venture into some of the Chicago neighborhoods for
vintage shopping. We will have a number of options to choose from and you can sign up during Orientation.

8:00pm                           Navy Pier Fireworks Show
                                 On-Campus Students: Depart from the lobby of your residence hall
                                 Off-Campus Students: Meet in front of the 162 North State Street Residence Hall
Explore Navy Pier and enjoy fireworks over Lake Michigan. This show that is set to music starts at 9:30pm and lasts
approximately 10 minutes.
