					STUDENT’S NAME ______________________________

During this project, students will learn about the systems of the human body. The
students will research each human body system and create an informational
packet, including drawings. Remember the information must be written in your
own words and a bibliography sheet must be included. This is an in-class project,
but students may need additional time at home to complete research and
drawings. Students will be given library time and access to computers to conduct
necessary research. The students will have three weeks to complete the project.
Due dates will be provided for each section and the final project is due FRIDAY,
February 24. The list of requirements and scoring rubric are below:
Title Page – Due February 3

           Tour the Human Body or other creative titles.

Section One – Digestive System – Due February 10

____/10    Draw a color diagram of the digestive system including, mouth,
           esophagus stomach, small intestine, and large intestine. (Be sure to
           label all the components! Neatness and creative are important!)

____/10    A written summary of the system, including how the organs work
           together, and the importance of the system

____/5     Diseases that affect the system
Section Two – The Respiratory System – Due February 10

____/10 Draw a color diagram of the respiratory system including nasal passage,
        trachea, lungs diaphragm, alveoli, and bronchioles. (Be sure to label all
        the components! Neatness and creativity are important!)

____/10 A well- written summary of the system, including how the organs work
         together, and the importance of the system to the human body

____/5    Diseases that affect the system – name and description of the diseases.



Section Three- The Nervous System – Due February 17 – Turn in before Field Trip

____/10    Draw a color diagram of the nervous system including brain, spinal cord
           and nerves. (Be sure to label all the components! –Neatness and
           creativity are important!

____/10    A well -written summary of the system, including how the organs work
           together, and the importance of the system

Section Four- The Excretory System – Due February 17-Turn in before Field Trip

____/10    Draw a color of the excretory system including kidneys, ureters, urea,
           and urethra. (Be sure to label all the organs and components of the
           system. Neatness and creativity are important!)
