            Introduction

• Locomotion is the sturdy of how animals
  move.
• Locomotion requires energy to overcome
  friction and gravity
• Different animals have a problem of
  overcoming friction,depending on the
medium.e.g friction is greatest on land
  compared in air and water
       Why animals move?

1. Animals move to look for mates
2. Animals move to look for food
3. Animals move to escape their enemies,e.g
   predators
4. Animals move to look for condusive
   habitats
•
    Forms of locomotion in animals
• Jumping
• Walking
• Hopping
• These three are common in terrestrial animals. The
advantage here is that friction is minimal. How
ever animals need a strong skeleton for support.
• Jumping is used by primates like monkies,Lemurs
  etc
Picture showing a lemur
        jumping
               Swimming

• This is used by aquatic animals like
  fish,toads,etc.Here,some organisms move
by breaking the surface tention while others
  do not
A picture swowing an octopus
                  Flight
• This is movement in air.Insects, and birds
move by flyinga and this needs developing
  wings.They also have other adaptations
  such as possessing light skeleton.
• Some animals move on both land and in
  water.
Picture swowing a pelican flying
               Crowling
• This is movement in lower animals on
land.Animals that crowl us a lot of energy
to overcom friction on land e.g earthworms
Topic that I have sturded using
              this search
• Locomotion on land,in water and air
• Forms of locomction
• Reason as to why animals have to move
• Chalenges animals face during locomotion
  Advantages of looking for this
   information using internet
        copared to books
• Its quik
• It shows some pictures some of which are
not easy to get in books
• Its organised
   Chalenges faced in using this
             method
• It disturbs when one is not skilled in
  computer
• Computer is some times slow to retrieve the
  information
• It needs patience
