construction. Evaluation Survey
Thanks to all of you that completed the Evaluation
Survey we sent out last half term. We really value your
responses and we are looking into the comments
raised. We are always looking at how we can improve
on the service we provide. Full analysis of the survey
will be sent to schools next term. For those of you that
did not get the chance to complete the survey, it is
still active and you can get to it by clicking or copying
this link to your browser:
Quotes, Orders & Installations
All requests for quotes should be sent to
Once the request is received, we will send a quote
back within 5 working days. Orders will be placed
within 3 days of confirmation from you. You will then
be notified of a delivery date once we get that from
the suppliers. If installation is required, this will be
scheduled in the slots available. You will be informed
of these dates. If you are planning any large network
installations, we would need to know a term in
advance to be able to schedule the work.
SQL 2008 Migration
Migration from Sql 2005 to 2008 has started. This work is
currently being done overnight/weekends to minimize
disruption to the schools. We have done 25% of the
migrations so far and aim to complete this by the
deadline of October 2010.
End of Year Procedure
Please do not forget to carry out the end of year
procedure for SIMS before September 1st.
Documentation can be found on our website.
Autumn School Census

Thursday 7th of October 2010 and School Workforce

contact us if you need to attend the refresher
workshop for the Workforce Census. All necessary
documentation for the Censuses will be on our

Croydon ICT strategy policy is that the London MLE
should be the main tool by which schools are
electronically engaging with parents. We will be
running a pilot of the MLE online reporting tools in the
summer term and rolling this out to schools and
providing training and support in the autumn term.
For more information and clarification on what schools
need to be doing, contact Stephen Schwartz.
Sims in the Classroom
We continue to advise and train schools in the use of
Sims in the classroom for taking electronic registers.
Please ring us on 020 87719858 or email
email@example.com if you are interested.
A visit can be scheduled to discuss what is required
and the implications for your school.
All Synetrix users have now been migrated to the
new StaffMail and we are now in the process of
migrating the LGfL (Digital Brain) users. This will be
completed before the end of the summer term.
Schools with Digital Brain websites (Croydon.lgfl.net)
are reminded that they will no longer be able to .
update these sites after 31st July 2010. Please contact
firstname.lastname@example.org to explore options
provided by webfronter.
Schools using the Synetrix SecureStore backup may
have noticed that you have yet to be invoiced
for the service, this is because we are
negotiating with Synetrix to get a better deal for the
schools which will mean a reduced charge for both
the software licences and the storage being used.
Once the pricing has been agreed you will be
invoiced for the service as normal.
We are planning a 2 day training course for Sims.net
