    Constitution (this is how we know a lot
    about its creation)

   Helped get the Bill of Rights drafted and
    wrote most of it (father of Bill of Rights!)

   Became secretary of state under Thomas
    Jefferson

   Helped push the embargo act

   Says that America will favor whichever country
    (Britain of France) that recognized America’s
    neutral rights first

       Fought over impressment (seizing soldiers to make
        them fight for you) and the seizure of U.S. goods on
        ships
