   Dear Friends in Christ,
I am excited about the up coming weekend #72 at Camp Harrison. It has been such a blessing to serve as the rector.
What a humbling job the Lord has chosen for me. The team has come together so easily that I know the Lord is in control
of it all. Our God is so good.
Our Scripture for the weekend is Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with
all your mind and with all your strength”. As the team is beginning to bond together we can feel God’s love, heart, soul,
mind and strength in each of us. As we serve it is my prayer that our guests will see how much we love the Lord in our
   spirit throughout the weekend.
Fourth Day Community, we need your support. First please continue to pray for the team and the guests. Next we
need your participation in the Send Off, the Serenade, the Closing and the Ultreya. This is still a fairly new conference
and we need everyone’s support. Your love and support will make the weekend complete for all the Pilgrims.

Thank you for all your prayer!

God loves you and so do I,

                  Terry Gilmore

                           NEAR GREENBORO, NC

You’re invited to a Centering Prayer Retreat led by Father Carl Arico of Contemplative Outreach, LTD,
on October 26-29, 2006. The Retreat will begin Thursday night and end Sunday at lunch and will be held at St.
Francis Springs Prayer Center north of Greensboro, NC. The Retreat is sponsored by the 4th Day Retreat Mission
Group of the NC Presbyterian Pilgrimage and the Servant Leadership School of Greensboro.
Father Arico is the Director of Outreach for Contemplative Outreach LTD, the international ecumenical
organization founded by Thomas Keating 20 years ago to share the practice of Centering Prayer. Father Arico, a
diocesan priest for 28 years, has spent the last 18 years talking to people all over the world about the power and
practice of Centering Prayer. He is known for his humor and clarity in his teaching on Centering Prayer. He also
is the author of Taste of Silence.

A separate dinner for Father Arico also will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday night, October 26,
2006 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greensboro. Father Arico will speak and answer questions
about Centering Prayer. You need not participate in the retreat to attend the dinner which will begin at
5:30 p.m. and end around 7:00 p.m. Reservations for the dinner ($10 per person) should be made by calling
      336-275-0447 and leaving a message.

Reservations for the Centering Prayer Retreat, on a first-come, first-served basis, may be made
online at www.4thdayjourney.org or by calling 1-866-797-0966 and leaving your information (including
any questions) on voicemail. Your call will be returned promptly.

The all-inclusive price of the Retreat (excluding dinner) is as follows: triple $185/person; double
$205/person; single $275/person. You do not have to attend the dinner to participate in the Retreat. Check
in time at St. Francis Springs for the Retreat will be at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday night. St. Francis Springs is a
beautiful new inter-faith retreat center located in Stoneville, NC (40 minutes north of Greensboro).

The Centering Prayer movement led by Contemplative Outreach LTD is international in scope. Thomas Keating
      describes Centering Prayer as follows:

“Centering Prayer is a method designed to facilitate the development of Contemplative Prayer by preparing our
faculties to receive this gift. It is an attempt to present the teaching of earlier times in an updated form.
Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer; rather it casts a new light and depth of meaning
on them. It is at the same time a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. This method
of prayer is a movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with Him.”
