Welcome to our newsletter for this half term. First of all, it was lovely that so many parents and
friends came to our recent Sports day and our Summer fete. Thankfully the weather was kind to
us for both events! Let’s hope we are equally as lucky for the events that are coming up.
Father’s Day assembly will take place on Friday 17th June at 2.30pm. This is a lovely
occasion when we celebrate dads everywhere, both alive and those that are in heaven. We
invite all the male members of our families to join us – dads, granddads, uncles etc on this
special occasion. Sorry, definitely no women allowed you have had your turn already!
St Louis Day is next week Thursday 23rd June. You are all invited to join us for Mass at
11.15am and then afterwards for our whole school picnic. Hopefully the weather will stay
nice and we will be able to use the field as usual. Please remember that your child can go
home after the picnic but you must let their teacher know that you are taking them! If you
have arranged for someone else to take your child home you must let the teacher know.
On Friday 24th June the school will be closed. It will also be closed for our final INSET day
on Monday 18th July.
Our final day of school for this academic year is Friday 22nd July and school re-opens on
Wednesday 7th September 2011. Breakfast Club re-opens on Monday 12th September
Recycling Initiative – Don’t forget to fill your large white bag with unwanted shoes, clothes,
books, DVDs etc and bring to school for collection no later than 1 p.m. on Monday 20th
June lunchtime. Not only is this a way of recycling things that you no longer need it is also
a great fundraiser for our school. Remember, there are lots more bags available in school if
you need them!
New things that are happening
Success for our School
We are very pleased that our school has recently been awarded Healthy School Status in
recognition of all the ways in which we try to promote Health and Wellbeing within our school.
It is also my pleasure to share with you the news that our school has also been awarded the
status of Leadership Development School and National Support School. This is in recognition
of the work that we do to support other schools in helping them improve and raise standards. This
is a fantastic achievement for us and something that we are very proud of.
Parent Focus group
You may remember in the past being asked to take part in a Parent group, where the school
consults you about a number of issues. Unfortunately, we did not get a very good response at the
time. However, we recently wrote to about twenty parents asking them if they would like to take
part and I am pleased to tell you that they met recently to discuss our amended behaviour policy.
If you would like to be part of this group please give your name to the school office and an
information leaflet will be given to you.
Congratulations to Nathaniel Deall in Year 5 who on the 4th June had the great privilege of
walking out with the England football team when they played their recent friendly match
Congratulations to Year 2 who recently took part in the Bucks Catholic Partnership cricket
event. The children represented our school really well and were a credit to us all.
Congratulations go to Milton House who won the Key Stage 1 and EYFS Sports Day and to

Many thanks go to all the members of the PTA who worked so hard to organise Saturday’s fete.
We raised approximately £1700 which is a phenomenal amount considering the current financial
climate. Thank you to everyone who attended, helped out or donated things to be sold.
From September we will need new volunteers for every morning as many of our current helpers
will be moving on. A big thank you goes to all the people who give up their time to help us in this
way. Please consider if you could come in and help even if it is only once every few weeks.
