Questions for Report
1. Where were you on 9/11? I was at the Perth Amboy Board of Education.
2. What were you doing? I was working.
3. Who were you with? I was with a co-worker.
4. What were your plans and expectations for that day? I was planning to work, and then go home with
my children to have dinner.
5. What was your first thought when you realized what was happening? My first thought was to pick up
my kids from school and have them with me just in case anything happened.
6. Who else was nearby and what were they doing? Other co-workers were nearby and we were
watching the tragedy on the television.
7. What did you do when you realized what was happening? I rushed to go get my kids at their schools.
8. What is your most vivid memory of the day? My most vivid memory was realizing that something was
wrong.
9. Can you describe the scene in one word? Devastating
10. Is there an image that has remained with you from that day? The image that has remained with me
from that day was when I seen on the television the second plane hitting the other tower.
11. Have your feelings about September 11th changed at all? How?No my feelings have not changed,
but my heart goes out to all the families.
12. Relate, if you can, 2 negative affects of 9/11. My two negative affects of 9/11 are that I could have
been there because I used to work around there years ago and I could have died.
13. Name 2 positive affects of 9/11. My two positive affects of 9/11 are I am glad I was not there and that I
was home safe with my children, and that I am living today.
14. Are you different now than you were before September 11th? How? Yes I am different because now
you have to be very careful because many people feel that everything is a terrorist attack.
15. Do you have any rituals to mark the day? No
16. Is there anything else you want to share about your experience? I would never work in the city ever
again.
17. Do you have an opinion regarding the proposed Islamic center near ground zero? My opinion is that
everyone has freedom of speech and that god is everywhere.
18. It has been 10 years since the 9/11 tragedy and most recently the “Arab Spring.” What do you think is
the best policy for America looking towards 2021?I think that the best policy is to re-build the towers and
re-unite.
