                                       COACHES JOB DESCRIPTION

The Coach and/or Assistant Coach reports to the League Director and Player Personnel Director with any
questions or concerns and is responsible to:

1)     Work with the youth of this organization to provide fundamental instruction as to the knowledge and
       skills pertaining to the game of football.
2)     Have organized practices. Make practice and game plans in advance. Attend all practices and
       games unless appointed assistant is prepared to substitute.
3)     Attend all coaches meetings and instructional courses instructed by the Center Grove Bantam
       Football league.
4)     Read and abide by the Rules Of Play set forth by the league. Conduct at least one parent meeting to
       explain the Code of Conduct as outlined in sections IX & X. Provide a behavior that is conducive to the
       ethics of this league, refraining from argumentative conflicts and foul language.
5)     Place a high emphasis on giving “praise” to all players regardless of a winning or losing record.
       “The experiences on and off the field will be remembered much longer than the amount of wins or
       losses”.

TIME COMMITMENT:
        2 practices
   @ 1-1/2 hrs each
        1 game
   @ 1-1/2 hrs each
        Preparation time (game/practice)          @1     hrs each
        Total time commitment per week            = 5-1/2 hours

NEEDED CHARACTERISTICS:
1.  Knowledge and Experience of the game of football.
2.  Patience and Desire to teach and encourage youth.
3.  Is in Good Standing within the community.
4.  A Flexible Work Schedule as to devote the time and commitment it takes
     to do a good job.
5.  Commitment to all policies and procedures of the Center Grove Bantam
     Football League.

EFFECTS AND END RESULTS: The coach is able to build positive relationships with players and families.
He/She establishes an environment where learning and growth can take place. The coach is a positive role model
at both practices and at games. He/She must be willing and able to address the needs of the players, from the
very best to the very worst, so that all players have an enjoyable and enriching experience.
