         Region 13 math sessions you may be interested in.
                        All sessions are FREE
     For all, register at: https://ecampus.esc13.net/login.html
  If you do not have a Region XIII Ecampus log in, you can create
                            one at the site.

If you need a substitute to attend one of these trainings, it will be paid out
of AYP funds. You need to submit your Region 13 certificate of completion
and substitute authorization form to Tracye Murphy-Ortega (through
district mail) within 7 school days after the training.

Math STAAR Webinar Grades K-5
Who: K-5th grade teachers, administrators, interventionists
What: This is a webinar session about the current STAAR information for Mathematics.
     On the day of the session, registered participants will receive an email
     providing a link to the webinar. Some topics include: readiness and supporting
     standards, who takes what test, reference materials, released items, questions and
     answers about STAAR. The live session will include a chat window for live Q&A and
     conversation. The session will also be recorded and posted for later viewing.

What: Examine the concepts in the Algebra 1 TEKS and learn strategies to prepare your
      students for success on the End of Course assessment during this professional
      development. Participants will explore hands-on, student-centered lessons
      designed to provide connections to and strengthen participants' knowledge of
      College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS), English Language Proficiency
      Standards (ELPS), and Response to Intervention (RtI).

MSTAR Academy I: MSTAR Introduction: An Executive Summary
Who: 5th through 8th grade math teachers and interventionists
What: This course provides an executive summary of the 4-day face-to-face training
     offered by education service centers in Texas to teachers, administrators and
     math coaches. The Middle-School Students in Texas: Algebra Ready (MSTAR)
     training will inform and familiarize participants with the Texas Response to
     Curriculum Focal Points as a framework for improving overall mathematics
     instruction and achievement, in order to decrease the percentage of students who
     need math intervention. This course is the prerequisite for the MSTAR Academy
     I: Math Academy 5-6 or 7-8 online courses.
When: At your own pace. Region XIII Ecampus class code: SU1221842
Where: In the comfort of your own space, from your teacher laptop.
How: Log in to Region XIII’s Ecampus site, register for the course, and follow the
     directions to launch the online module.



MSTAR Self-paced Online Modules
Who: 5th through 8th grade math teachers and interventionists
What: This self-paced training will allow participants to examine the big ideas in the
     middle school mathematics TEKS concepts and learn strategies through the
     exploration of hands-on, student-centered lessons designed to provide connections
     to and strengthen participants' knowledge of College and Career Readiness
     Standards (CCRS), English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), and Response to
     Intervention (RtI). The prerequisite for this course is the completion of MSTAR
     Academy I: MSTAR Introduction: An Executive Summary
When: At your own pace. XIII Ecampus class code: SU1221838 (Grades 5-6)
     SU1221840 (Grades 7-8) Choose one if you teach all grade levels. 5-6 focus is on
     fractions, decimals, and ratios. 7-8 focus is on proportionality.
Where: In the comfort of your own space, from your teacher laptop.
How: Log in to Region XIII’s Ecampus site, register for the course, and follow the
