Orange County Association of School Administrators Board Meeting Minutes May 9, 2011 Board Members in Attendance Sheilla Johnson, Anita Gentz, Alex Heidelberg, Patricia Ramsey, Kelly Pelletier, Rob Bixler, Nancy Schroeder, Stephanie Shames, Seth Daub, Patricia Ramsey Welcome Sheilla Johnson brought the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. with a welcome and introductions. Secretary and Treasurer Reports The Minutes were reviewed and approved. The Treasurer’s report was reviewed via email that included current balances and expenditures, since Susan Storch was unable to attend. Sheilla Johnson, Kelly Moss, and Kelly Pelletier will be completing the annual audit. Old Business A discussion regarding the meeting with the Superintendent was discussed. The OCASA Executive Board discussed the following items: administrator raises, decisions being made by departments without principal input when the decisions directly affect what is happening at schools (e.g. ICTS, School Nurse Program, etc.). Also discussed was that appropriate district emails should be sent to assistant principals as well as principals. New Business Nomination Committee Report: OCASA Officers for 2011-2012 The OCASA Election of Officers will be held June 1-9, 2011. Effective July 1, 2011: Kelly Pelletier (who was elected last year), as President-Elect will assume the Office of President of OCASA for the 2011-2012 school year. Sheilla Johnson our OCASA President for 2010-2011 will serve as Past-President for the 2011- 2012 school year. Report of Nominating Committee for New Officers for 2011-2012: Eddie Ruiz, Principal – Jackson MS President-Elect Sharyn Gabriel, Principal – Ocoee MS Treasurer Seth Daub, Assistant Principal – Jones HS Secretary The OCASA Spring Meeting will be a breakfast at the Marriott Downtown (date tentative). The OCASA Board is co-sponsoring a Hospitality Reception at the FASA Summer Conference at the Lake Buena Vista Palace, Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 6:30-8:30pm. The next FASA Regional Coalition Meeting/Tampa Bay Area Coalition is July 20, 2011. Adjournment Meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m. Next board meeting will be held on July 11, 2011, at 4:30 p.m. at Orlando Tech, Director’s Conference Room.
