               2012-2013 Internship in School Psychology
The Office of Psychological Services, Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools), invites applications
for full-time internships in School Psychology from graduate students who are enrolled in a master’s,
specialists, or doctoral program in school psychology. We are a large, urban school district that affords
intern school psychologists opportunities to develop competencies in a broad range of school-based
mental health services in support of educational success for all students. Our internship program is
predicated on a developmental scientist-practitioner model. The intern school psychologist typically
works under direct clinical supervision of an experienced practitioner to provide counseling and other
therapeutic interventions for students; conduct formal psychological assessments for educational planning
and placement; and consult with City School staff, parents, and community-based service providers.
Based on needs and interests of the intern, and on requirements of specific universities, specialized
experiences can be incorporated in the internship.

The internship begins in August 2012 and concludes in June 2013. Compensation includes a stipend of
$22,000. Upon successful completion of training and fulfillment of requirements for Maryland
certification, intern school psychologists receive preferential consideration for employment as school
psychologists with Baltimore City Public Schools.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, unofficial graduate transcript, writing sample, and three
letters of reference of which two should be from the graduate program.
