Normandy Bridge Club (Yeovil) Learn to play and improve your bridge with Alison and Chris on *Wednesday evenings. How good do I need to be? The Wednesday evening session is usually split into two groups. Those with some experience play randomly dealt hands but are able to ask for help at any time during the session. Alternatively those who wish to start from the beginning will have weekly structured lessons with handouts and prepared hands. Occasionally the two groups merge for a presentation on a particular topic. Complete beginners are encouraged to start in +September. Anyone is welcome especially those who feel uncomfortable in the atmosphere of a competitive club. Do I need a partner? It is always better to arrange to play with someone you know but if you haven't got a partner, come on your own. We will find you a suitable partner. What sort of bridge can I play? We prefer you to join in playing pairs (Duplicate) however you may play Rubber Bridge if 3 others agree. Is tuition available? Yes! During the session help is always available to give you as much advice as you require. We always expect plenty of questions from both groups no matter how trivial or advanced. Are there any refreshments? Yes. Unlimited tea, coffee, squash and biscuits all included in the price. There is a bar downstairs (not included). We have a break mid session where we promote a very social atmosphere. How long is the session? Both groups start at 7:15pm (prompt) and we aim to finish before 10:00pm Those playing rubber can start anytime but will be expected to finish by 10:00pm. Doors open at 6:45pm How much will it cost? Entry is £3.00 per person per session for the more experienced group and £5.00 for the beginners. The difference is due to course notes which are not provided to the more experienced group. Do I have to join the club? No. We do not have any membership forms (or fees) so there are no hidden costs. Who do I tell if I want to play? No-one. Just turn up. We will be happy to see you. Absolute beginners need to confirm their place at the end of August with a non refundable deposit of £70. No further payment will be required until lesson 15 at the start of the spring term. Where do I go? Normandy Bridge Club is located on the first floor of the Unity Hall (above the Labour club) which is opposite the bus station on Central Road, Yeovil. There is ample free parking just outside. http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=BA202YB&countryCode=GB#map=50.93897,- 2.62737|16|4&bd=useful_information&loc=GB:50.94222:-2.62675:16|BA201JL|BA20%201JL Between us, Alison and Chris have over 40 years of bridge experience and 15 years of teaching.
