                                                                                       THE DELIVERY OF SERVICES TO

                 PEOPLE FROM CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS, INCLUDING HUMANITARIAN ENTRANTS
Introduction:
The Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI), in partnership with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship and in collaboration with the members of the Interagency Settlement Group (ISG), collated
information in relation to services and programs available for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds, including humanitarian entrants. This information was gathered under nine
key settlement priority areas from Commonwealth and State Government agencies, and relevant Local Government Authorities. The priority areas are: Education; Employment; Health; Housing; Justice;
Language Services; Transport; Civic Participation; and Family and Social Support. The data areas include details of the program or service; agency responsible for the delivery of the program; agency or
organisation delivering the service; target population; service delivery location; funding source; and the duration of the program. Information has been presented in nine separate spreadsheets in this file.

Engagement with the non-government and community sectors:
OMI undertook a consultation process to engage with the non-government and community sectors to seek feedback and identify areas where gaps or duplication exist in the availability of services to migrants
and humanitarian entrants in Western Australia. An information forum was held at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship on 4 November 2010 to explain the background to the development of this
Catalogue and its purpose. Non-government organisations were invited to include any new programs or services as well as idenitify gaps and / or duplication in service delivery. Comments received from non-
government organisations are included in the relevant spreadsheets (highlighted in blue) in the current version of the Catalogue. An interim summary report based on these comments was submitted to the
ISG on 1 December 2010. It was proposed that further time be provided for non-government organisations to provide feedback in order to obtain comprehensive information on available programs and
services. OMI invited those organisations that were not able to provide feedback by the previous due date of 23 November 2010 to contribute their comments by Monday 27 January 2011.

A draft Action Plan based on the feedback from government agencies and non-government organisations will be developed in January 2011 to address the identified issues. The Action Plan will be submitted
for the consideration of the ISG and shared with the community and non-government sector as part of the consultation process.

Purpose:
The purpose of this exercise is to improve the effectiveness of the delivery of services to migrants and humanitarian entrants through information sharing across government, non-government and the
community sectors.
