        All Michigan State football games will be broadcast on the Spartan Radio
     Network, as the MSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics enters the sec-
     ond year of a three-year deal with the addition of two option years. A region-
     ally recognized sports syndicator based in Holt, Mich., Spartan Sports Net-
     work will produce and distribute Michigan State radio broadcasts. The
     games can be heard throughout Michigan on the 30-affiliate network, with
     WJIM Radio in Lansing serving as the flagship station.
        George Blaha enters his 26th season as the play-by-play announcer for
     Michigan State football. Blaha, who resides in Troy, Mich., is in his 28th
     year as the voice of the NBA’s Detroit Pistons, calling games on both televi-
     sion and radio. The National Association of Sportswriters and Sports Broad-
     casters honored him as the 1998 and 2002 Michigan Sports Broadcaster of
     the Year. Born in Detroit, Blaha graduated from Notre Dame in 1966 with a
     degree in economics. While growing up in Marshalltown, Iowa, Blaha and
     his father attended Michigan State’s first-ever Big Ten game, played at
     Iowa in 1953. He lists All-America halfback Sherman Lewis and former QB
     Charlie Baggett as his all-time favorite Spartan players.
        Former Spartan quarterback Bill Burke is in his second season as a member
