                         SAFELINE/CALL-OUT ADVOCATE ANNOUNCEMENT

Title: Safeline/Call-Out Advocate
Location: To be done remotely and not in any specific office location
Work load: Overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage in week-long shifts
Reports to: Executive Director
Salary: $80 per regular week-long shift, $115 per week-long shift containing holiday(s)


About the agency:
Crime Victim Services, Inc. (CVS) is a non-profit agency that provides advocacy services to victims of all
crime (domestic violence, sexual assault, and general crime) in Brown County and sexual assault
services in Blue Earth, Nicollet, and Sibley Counties.

Position Summary:
CVS operates a 24-hour Safeline crisis line for sexual assault, domestic violence, and general crime that
is operated remotely via cellular phones. Safeline/Call-Out Advocates will cover overnights (5 p.m.-8
a.m.), weekends, and holidays in week-long shifts. Advocates must be available to both answer the
hotline and participate in call-out response to hospitals and law enforcement centers in our 4 county
service area. There will be two Safeline/Call-Out Advocates staffing at a time and always with a staff
member available to those Advocates via phone at any time. Must complete 40-hour sexual assault
advocate certification training provided by CVS. A successful Safeline/Call-Out Advocate must be reliable
and able to respond to calls immediately.

Requirements and other considerations:
Applicants must have, or be currently pursuing, a bachelor’s degree in a related field: human services,
criminal justice, corrections, social work, women’s studies, or social sciences field. Experience in the field
of victim services and a knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of sexual violence and related
issues is strongly preferred. Bilingual abilities preferred. Applicants must have the ability to work with
people in crisis in a non-judgmental manner. Must be caring, supportive, a good listener, have healthy
boundaries, and able to work with both females and males in crisis of any age. Ability to work
independently and as a team member required. Must complete and pass a criminal background
check. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, provide proof of auto insurance, access to a reliable
vehicle, and must live within a 30 mile radius of Mankato.
