Report Sheet

Project Name: Adding up the Electricity Bill
Student:
Date:

Project Description: The spreadsheet will work out how much energy is being used
by different appliances in your home or school at different
times of day. In this project you use the spreadsheet to
calculate how much electricity you are using and how much it
                       costs.

Information: You will need to find out the following information: a) which
appliances are used in your school/ home, b) how long the
appliances are on for and c) the power rating of each
                       appliance.

Once this information is entered into the right place on the
spreadsheet, the cost of electricity can be calculated.
Question 1: Which appliance is the most expensive to run?

Question 2: Think of two ways that you could save money on the electricity
                       bill.

Question 3: What difference do you think Winter and Summer make to
                       your bill?

Question 4: How could the electricity bill be halved?
