2009 – 1010 Goals and areas of Improvement

Reading: to increase the number of Level III and IV students by 3%.

Grade 6 ALCOS 2 – Interpret literary elements and devices. As 5th graders, these students scored low in this
area

Grade 6 ALCOS 3
Grade 7 & 8: ALCOS 4
– Apply strategies to comprehend textual, informational, and functional materials.

Math: To increase the number of Level III and IV students by 3% and to increase the mean percent of the
designated content standard for each grade level.

6th ALCOS 7 – solve problems involving perimeter and area of parallelograms and rectangles.

7th ALCOS: 12 & 3
-Determine measures of central tendency and the range using a given set of data or graphs, including
histograms, frequency tables, and stem-and-leaf plots.
-Determine the probability of a compound event

8th ALCOS: 10, 11, & 12
-Find the perimeter and area of regular and irregular plane figures.
-Determine the surface area and volume of rectangular prisms, cylinders, and pyramids.
-Determine the lengths of missing sides and measures of angles in similar and congruent figures.

Science: To increase the number of level III and IV students by 3%

-Describe biotic and abiotic factors in the environment.

Attendance:
- For student attendance to be greater than 96% during the first 20 days following Labor Day and throughout
the school year.
