REQUIRED TEXT: Principles of Microeconomics, 3rd edition, by N. Gregory Mankiw,
     South-Western

GRADING: The grade will be based on two mid-term exams, one final exam,
     ten class assignments and class participation.

         Mid-term exam 1: 25%          Mid-term exam 2: 25%           Final exam: 30%
         Class Assignments: 10%        Class Participation: 10%

   -     The following grading cutoffs are in terms of total course points:
       4.0    3.7     3.3      3.0     2.7     2.3      2.0     1.7     1.3     1.0     0.7

   85%        80%     75%     70%     65%     60%       55%    50%     45%      40%     35%

   -     Mid-term exams will consist of 50% multiple choice questions and 50% short
         answer & essay questions. Final exam will be 100% multiple choice questions.

   -     Final Exam Schedule
            o May 6 (Thursday) 12:00-1:50 p.m. if your class starts at 12:30 p.m..
            o May 6 (Thursday) 2:00-3:50 p.m. if your class starts at 3:30 p.m.

   -     There will be 10 assignments. See class outline table for due dates.

   -     10% of the grade will be based on class participation (Asking and answering
         questions in class, attending class, etc.)

   -     All students are expected to take the exams on the days listed in the class outline
         table. Make-up exams will be given only in cases where I have been informed in
         a timely manner for a legitimate excuse.
