									                         RESOLUTION NO. 11-02-01

             GRATITUDE TO THE UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO
            STRATEGIC PLAN COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE,
DR. JAMIE BARLOWE, MR. CHUCK LEHNERT, AND MS. MARCIE FERGUSON

WHEREAS,    The University of Toledo’s Strategic Plan: Directions 2007 was adopted by
            The University of Toledo Board of Trustees at their March 19, 2007 Board
            meeting serving the institution well since that time as a successful guiding
            force; and

WHEREAS,    the world around us has changed very dramatically with the University
            finding it necessary to recalibrate its Strategic Plan: Directions 2007 in
            response to these external forces especially in a downside economy; and

WHEREAS,    reengineering this Strategic Plan document could not have been done better
            without the countless hours of hard work and unwavering commitment of the
            UT Strategic Plan Committee Meeting of the Whole Co-Conveners Dr. Jamie
            Barlowe and Mr. Chuck Lehnert, as well as the administrative assistance of
            Ms. Marcie Ferguson; and

WHEREAS,    the UT Strategic Plan: Directions 2011 will make the University a stronger
            and more vibrant institution by providing a measurable path to distinction.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED

            that The University of Toledo Board of Trustees and President Lloyd Jacobs
            acknowledge and express their thanks to the hundreds of faculty, staff,
            students, administrators, and community members who provided input into
            recalibration of the UT Strategic Plan; and

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED

            that the Board of Trustees, President Jacobs, and the entire University
            community express their gratitude and indebtedness to Dr. Jamie Barlowe,
            Mr. Chuck Lehnert, and Ms. Marcie Ferguson for their efforts in charting the
            institution’s course for the future with their outstanding organization and
            leadership of the many meetings necessary to complete the UT Strategic
            Plan: Directions 2011.
