• Large scale distributed information retrieval and data mining applications
• High-performance distributed dictionaries
• Simulation of huge computer networks protocols and applications
• Modelling and parallel simulation of large forest fires on a grid of clusters,
  based on grid-aware geo-referenced data, to support real-time decisions in civil
  protection environments.
