PURPOSE OF REPORT
Notify the Board that the Project is transitioning from construction into operations and project close out.

Baseline Budget: $13.3 million                                Baseline Schedule: December 2010
Estimated Final Project Cost: $13.3 million                   Substantial Completion: January 2011 for
                                                              the February 2011 service change

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Kirkland Transit Center Project will increase capacity and operational flexibility for local and express bus
service at the existing on-street transit center. Enhancements include:

•    Bus bays accommodating up to a total of ten buses with weather protection
•    Bike facilities
•    Pedestrian/bike crossings and connections to the surrounding community
•    Lighting, landscaping and public art
•    Intersection improvements to enhance pedestrian safety
•    Traffic signal modifications

Sound Transit will own and maintain the bus shelters, benches, and related assets. The City of Kirkland will
own and maintain the trellis structure, recycling facilities, in-pavement flashing crosswalk, median and
pedestrian lighting, landscaping, irrigation, median railing, traffic signals, utilities (storm, wastewater, water),
plaza lighting and vehicular operations painting/thermoplastic markings.
