The LaRue County High School Academic Team competed in the 18th District Governor’s Cup competition
held at Nelson County High School on January 24 and January 29. LCHS competed against four other
high school academic teams, Nelson County High, Bardstown High, Bardstown Bethlehem and Bluegrass
Christian Academy. The following students placed in written assessment and will advance to regional
competition: Shelby Rogers placed 3rd in Language Arts, Andrew Skaggs placed 2nd in Mathematics,
Spenser Reed placed 2nd in Social Studies.
The Quick Recall team competed in a double elimination tournament and placed 2nd overall. They will
also advance to regional competition. The Future Problem Solving team earned the district
championship by placing first and will also advance to regional competition.
