TITLE: Assistant Manager Cava Wines & Spirits – Retail
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time
SALARY: Negotiable, commensurate with skills & experience
ANTICIPATED START DATE: Upon finding the successful candidate
Education: Wine and food service training is an asset.
Experience: Retail 3-5 years, Food service experience is an asset, Management experience.
Work Setting: Retail wine, spirits and beer store as well as storeroom.
Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Point of sale system, General office
equipment, computer applications including MS Office
Staff responsibility: 1-12
Specific Skills: Responsible for opening & closing of store, planning, directing and evaluating
daily operations, managing staff, assigning duties and merchandising in-store promotions.
Determining staff requirements, keeping wage cost in budget, recruiting and training staff.
Responsible for Wine Club Membership and Wine of the Month tracking. Resolving problems as
they arise (example: customer complaints). Various customer service oriented tasks.
Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment, handling heavy boxes, attention to detail.
Combination of standing, walking and sitting.
Essential Skills: Knowledge of wine and/or the willingness to learn. Reading text, document use,
numeracy, writing, oral communications, working in a team environment, problem solving,
proactive rather than reactive, decision making, planning and organizing. Lots of memory work,
