         Go Paperless Reports
         1. Go to www.myquickbooks.me to view a YouTube video on going paperless.
         2. Download Go Paperless Excel templates at www.myquickbooks.me.
         3. Save your QuickBooks reports to the templates using the following steps.

Step 1 Go to www.myquickbooks.me.

Step 2 Select QB2012.

Step 3 Download the Go Paperless Reports Excel template for the assignment you are completing
         (Chapter or Case).

Step 4 Open the Excel workbook. Select File > Save As. IMPORTANT! To receive credit for your
work, use the filename: [YourFirstName LastName] [CH/CASE][No] REPORTS. Example:
         YourFirstName LastName CH1 REPORTS

Step 5 When your Computer Accounting with QuickBooks text asks you to print a report, use the
Report Center to display the report on your screen.

Two approaches to Excel exports are: Create New Worksheet and Update Existing
Worksheet. Although the update approach is easier, this QuickBooks 2012 feature is
available only for a limited number of reports. If QuickBooks is not able to update an
existing worksheet, you will receive an error message. In that case, go to Step 12 for
instructions to create a new worksheet.

                                   Update Existing Worksheet Instructions

Step 6 With the report displayed onscreen, select Excel > Update Existing Worksheet.

Step 7 Browse for the Excel Reports template with your name in the filename.
Step 8 Select the correct sheetname.

Step 9 Select Advanced and uncheck Include QuickBooks Export Guide worksheet with helpful
          advice. Click OK.

Step 10 Click Export. Select Yes if a message appears that you are updating an existing worksheet
with new data. Excel software should open on your screen with your QuickBooks report
          inserted into the correct sheet.

If the following message appears, go to Step 12

Step 11 If QuickBooks inserted a new sheet tab (example: CH1 TB_Original), right-click on that sheet
tab and select Delete. (If Excel freezes up at this point, try selecting the QuickBooks window
first, and then select the Excel tab.)

          Go to Step 17.

                                      Create New Worksheet Instructions

Step 12 With the report displayed onscreen, select Excel > Create New Worksheet.
Step 13 Select in existing workbook. Browse for the Excel Reports template with your name in the
            filename.

Step 14 Select Advanced and uncheck Include QuickBooks Export Guide worksheet with helpful
            advice. Click OK.

Step 15 Click Export. Excel software should open on your screen with your QuickBooks report
inserted into a worksheet labeled Sheet[No].

Step 16 Copy the contents of the new sheet into the prelabeled sheet for the assignment:
          > In the newly inserted Sheet[No], select all (click the button in the upper left corner of the
sheet between column A and row 1). Right-click on the sheet, select Copy.
          > Select the prelabeled sheet tab for the assignment (example: PR2.6 COA), select cell A1,
            right-click, select Paste.
          > Delete the Sheet[No]: right-click on the Sheet[No] tab, select Delete.

Step 17 On the REPORTS sheet, check the deliverables that you have completed with an "x".
Failure to check off the deliverables may result in a score of -0-.

Step 18 Save your Excel workbook. See Step 4 above. (Note: With some versions, you must close the
workbook before inserting the next report.)

Step 19 Ask your instructor if you should email the Excel spreadsheet or use a courseware dropbox.
Good job!
Exporting to Excel in QB2012 has
extra features and at the same
time makes it more challenging to
do a simple Excel report. These
 instructions are provided for you
to streamline the Excel export as
         much as possible.
