                                             new Year’s eve 2011
The Elks Lodge was well attended with Elks greeting the New Year with dinner, Bruce Baum’s comedy show, dancing and
Champagne! Kudos to the Lodge Manager, Ace Crye, for putting together such a wonderful dinner and a great program to
round out the evening. Members brought in the New Year with tunes from ‘Big Boss Band’ to dance to.

Well, we have a great start for the NEW YEAR. We’ve received five resumes from members applying for their LIFETIME
MEMBERSHIP. They are Peggy Bean, Carolyn Butcher, Marianne Lawrence, Sandy Newberry and Marilyn Robinson. They will be
voted on at our February 7th Regular meeting.
I would like to thank Diane Whitney, Anne Heather Welch, Lil Meadows and Peggy Bean for taking on the task of nominating
committee for new officers for 2012. When they call you, please consider the idea of becoming an officer. The auxiliary can’t run without
these important offices being filled.
The task for choosing a new Sweetheart for 2012 will be voted on by names submitted by the members at our February 7th meeting.
Only past Sweethearts chosen will count the ballots and they will be keeping it a secret until the night of Saturday, February 11th, at the
Sweetheart Ball. Our outgoing Sweetheart, Sylvia Wyland, has a great evening planned. So please come out and find out the winner of
this coveted award, and also the winner of the diamond ring being raffled out that night.
Our Spaghetti Dinners have started on Monday nights at 5 PM and will run thru until the end of March. It’s great spaghetti and the
cost still is a good bargain at $7.00. Chairpersons for this event are Marianne Lawrence and June Sloan. If you’re available to help them,
please contact them.
Hope to see you all at our February meeting to vote on our Lifetime memberships and new Sweetheart.
Geri Gorsegner, President, Auxiliary of Elks #476
