SPECIAL FIRE-FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with eyes and skin. ----------------------------------------------------------SECTION 5 - REACTIVITY DATA ----------------------------------------------------------Materials in this kit are stable. Hazardous polymerization will not occur. ----------------------------------------------------------SECTION 6 - HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------------------SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF OVEREXPOSURE TO REAGENTS: EYE CONTACT: Reagents may cause eye irritation. SKIN CONTACT: Prolonged and/or repeated contact with reagents may cause skin irritation. INHALATION: Reagents may cause irritation of the mucous membranes of the nose, throat, respiratory tract, and/or headache and nausea in poorly ventilated areas. FIRST AID FOR REAGENT EXPOSURE: EYE CONTACT: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. SKIN CONTACT: Flush skin with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. INHALATION: Remove individual to fresh air. Seek medical help if necessary. ----------------------------------------------------------SECTION 7 - SPILL, LEAK, AND DISPOSAL PROCEDURES ----------------------------------------------------------SPILL/LEAK PROCEDURES: Contain spill, then clean with copious amounts of soap and water. Avoid contact with skin or clothing. WASTE MANAGEMENT/DISPOSAL: Observe all Federal, State, and Local laws concerning health and pollution. WARNING: Reagents in this kit contain very low concentrations of the antibiotic Gentamicin. WARNING: Reagents in this kit contain very low concentrations of sodium azide. These materials should be diluted with running water before disposal to avoid deposits in plumbing where explosive conditions may develop. ----------------------------------------------------------SECTION 8 - SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------------------Good housekeeping procedures and laboratory practice is the best preventative. Use in well-ventilated areas. Handle all biologicals as if capable of transmitting disease.
