Class Activity: “What Is It” Game
As the session’s Icebreaker Activity, the entire group played the “What Is It” Game.
Students and mentors formed five teams. Each team received an envelope containing
images of landmark or interesting buildings in Atlanta. Team members worked together
to determine whether or not they knew the name or purpose of each building, what they
liked or didn’t like about the building design. Afterwards, everyone discussed the buildings
using a Powerpoint presentation with all the buildings. The buildings discussed are on this
page and included the Westin Peachtree Hotel (which ACE will visit!), Fernbank Museum,
the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta City Hall, the World of Coke, the Federal Reserve Bank,
the High Museum, Philips Arena, the Mansion on Peachtree, Georgia Tech Technology
Square. If you missed this activity, ask a participant for a quick recap! Thank you to all for
your great comments and enthusiastic participation!
